Jorden
So I have a Sony Handycam digital camcorder with a 25x optical zoom. My question is why when I zoom in all the way does the picture get blurry. I was trying to video some deer in the field tonight and everytime I would zoom in, the picture would get blurry. Is there anyway to prevent this from happening:confused:. Any help would be appreciated.
wtnhunt
Those distances any movement will be exaggerated in the picture causing the blur. Are you using a tripod? Sony cams(most newer ones) do have a steady shot feature, would be sure to use it.
toddyboman
Tripod is a must or camera arm is a must!! Manual focus could help you some....Lots of times my camera will focus on something other than the deer.

If it not focusing on what you want it to, I would definitely learn how to use the manual focus so you can be in control of what the camera is looking at. I was playing around with it today and the manual focus is rather difficult to use. You have to push the touch screen to use it and you can either move the slider one way for objects that are far away or the other way for objects that are close. I was looking at telephoto lenses today. Would one of those help?
Slash
You have now stepped outside of my area of knowledge. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephoto_lens Maybe that can help you, it is a lot of jibberish to me. Sorry to hear that you are having so many problems with your dang camera, you should be able to point and click shouldn't you.

Ya it is a little frustrating, but its just when I try to video deer from far away. I think I am just a little frustrated cause I really want a GL2 or something of that caliber but I cant afford it so I have to try and make do with my average camera.
