Fix for Plastic magazines

Recommended Posts

I have .22 LR conversions for my 1911 and SIG pistols since the Obama syndrome has dried up the ammo supply and I need to use 22's to train with. The only problem I have had is that after several months of use the plastic magazines have worn where they latch into the pistol and creep out which ties up the pistol. It made my SIG an expensive single shot pistol. The plastic magazines are $40.00 apiece which is too much for something that is that poorly engineered. I had some 10-32 washers laying around and cut one nearly in half and found it was the same profile as the front of the magazine. I sawed a slot in the magazine so that the bottom of the washer was in position to engage the latch and glued it in with Easton Fletching glue and I'll be darned if it don't work! Probably alot longer than the original and easily replaced if it comes loose. Didn't cost $40.00 either.:Dmark
