danthehuntinman
This is the buck that I learned how to do a shoulder mount with. It was probably a good one to start with considering I shot it in the head. I didn't realize it was as nice as it was till I got to it or I wouldn't have been shooting for the base of the head. Zambo
Nice buck. Why a head shot? I'm not being critical just wondering.
danthehuntinman
I usually shoot deer in the head or neck so I don't mess up a lot of meat.
RTF
I usually shoot deer in the head or neck so I don't mess up a lot of meat. If you aim and hit the vitals (heart- lung) you wont have to worry about messing up any meat.
danthehuntinman
Well if your hunting with a 30-06 or a 300 mag then you will probably do some damage to them.
danthehuntinman
Another reason I do that its more of a challenge shooting deer in the head or the neck.
