cflhunter
This season, my setup is a BowTech Guardian set at 63lbs. and a 29" draw. I'm shooting Carbon Express Maxima Hunters (250). I have a question about broadhead weight selection. I've always used 100 grain in whatever head I've shot. Now, I'm pulling less weight and shooting a lighter arrow. Should I increase my broadhead weight to 125gr.? Will this allow for more penetration? I plan to shoot Muzzy 3-blades this year. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Gator
I really don't think the weight will matter THAT much, as far as penetration is concerned. I shoot 27" draw at 65lbs, and have always gotten pass throughs, my arrow weight is right around 350gr. I've used the 4 blade Muzzy's, G5 Tekan, and now Magnus Stingers
Double Drops
The 100 grain heads will be perfectly fine. You're going to be generating plenty of energy with that setup.
Tony
when you add extra weight to either end of your arrow, it will change how they fly. right now im moving to a Muzzy 100 after shooting Muzzy 75s. the 75s have been so accurate the last 6 years its not funny, but i wanted to see if i could get a little extra accuracy and better flight this year. while it did improve the Front of Center (FOC) on my hunting arrows, it doesnt look like it has effected accuracy at all. i wouldnt think 25 extra grains will effect your setup a lot, but of course shoot them and see how they fly.
