MadHuntinPastor
Depends on where you are hunting. If the guy next door is gonna shoot em and not let them live then you might as well take a crack first. If it is your land and you are trying to manage for bigger racks let them both go. I personally would be taking the one on the right at several of my hunting spots, but not at 2 others. The one on the left looks young and I would let live. Guest CBU93
Re: whats the right age ??? Here's another stupid question...I see you are from Spokane, WA, are they blacktails? Given they would be legal bucks in your area, I would say they are both shooters.
WaCoyote
Re: whats the right age ??? The one on the right is definately a shooter around Spokane. It's hard to say about the other since it's still in velvet. If you end up hunting with me and you pass on the one on the right I will gladly put it on ice. I'll give you a little jerky too, just to show my appreciation. LOL In all seriousness, thats about as good as it gets around here. Although you will run into some monsters in the Nat. Forests and state parks.
wtnhunt
Re: whats the right age ??? That deer on the left has a considerably bigger body, unless it is just closer to the camera giving an optical illusion. If I was hunting an area where I would expect to see deer like that I would probably let them both walk, but I dont and the neighboring properties they shoot anything and everything they see. That said and hunting here, I would likely should the that presented me the best shot opportunity.

Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: whats the right age ??? Don't think either deer is over 2.5 years old. I wouldn't shoot a deer that young that shows the type of potential those do, but that's my personal position and I hunt in Texas where the attitude toward QDM is considerably different than it is in some other areas. Tominator
Re: whats the right age ??? The antlers on them look like young muleys, because the G-2's look like they have buds that are going to fork. If they're muleys, I'd let them walk another year or two. If they're blacktails, then they're shooters in my book. If they're whiteys, I'd probably shoot the one on the right because he looks to be a Poper with some forked G-2's and lots-O-character.
