Jeramie
Ive always worn the cheaper cammo. Most everything ive bought has been from Walmart. It typically last 2-3 years and is done. Its that time again..... Im looking and thinking about picking something up well before season. However, the stuff at Bass Pro and even Academy Sports is HIGH! The cheap stuff has always worked but some of this stuff at BP would cost around $150 for a shirt and pants!!!! I know the scent blocker stuff is high but a lot of their plain RT cammo is HIGH dollar. I have to try everything on. Im built wierd so online ordering isnt all that possible. Is the higher dollar stuff at places like BP worth the purchase?
wtnhunt
Cabelas has several reasonably priced lines Jeramie and my experience their quality is pretty darned good for the price. I like the silent weave line of bowhunter 6 pocket pants, they usually run around $30 http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat20712-cat601683&id=0044896931528a&navCount=3&podId=0044896931528&parentId=cat601683&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=9IS&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat601233&hasJS=true, they run different lines and styles of tee's for under $20 too. Have not had much experience with bass pro's stuff, but what little I did have their quality was not as good as similar stuff from cabelas. Have a full set of scent lok stuff, and really don't think it has made any difference at all in deer I have seen or deer I have had get close, would not let yourself get sold on paying more for the scent lok stuff unless you think you need it. unioncountyslayer
I've always been a firm believer in "you get what you pay for". I know some stuff is ridiculously expensive and I stay away from that, but I will splurge a bit on nice camo. I bought a pair of cold weather bibs and jacket from BPS a few years ago. They still look brand new and have held up much better than the previous set of Walls from Wal-Mart. I also have a set of Rivers West pants and jacket. I'd rather spend the money now and get more than a couple of seasons out them.
jesse8953
I catch deals at cabelas and gander mountain.Best time is right after season ends but they will start running stuff on sale before season. At least they did turkey season. Orion_70
You still might want to try ordering online, if you know what you want already. Check out ebay for some of it. Gander Mtn. puts on some good sales also, I picked up some from there last year. Also got some camo from Cabela's after season on clearance for 1/2 price. Bass Pro should be putting on their fall hunting classics soon, Gander and Dick's will also be running specials in the next couple weeks if you just have to try everything on, weirdo
RangerClay
I hate buying clothes on-line because feel the quality nor can I try it on. So far, I have had good luck with the Gander mountain Pro Line of clothing.

johnf
I get the vast majority of my stuff at good ol' Wal-Mart. I do have some stuff I've gotten at Gander Mt. and Bass Pro. My cold weather gear I got at the outlet store in Springfield. If you ever go to the Springfield BPS it's just to the left of the main store. I got a $200 5:1 Parka for $36, $50 hooded sweat shirt for $12 and and and some $175 bibs for $29 this summer. They don't match, but for that price, who cares. I get my shirts, gloves and pants and light weight stuff at Wal-Mart. I really don't know that the everyday shirts and pants are going to be much if any better at BPS or any other place. hyperflow
Best place to buy camo i say is ebay, if you got the time theres some real deals there all the time. I bought every single pc of scentblocker camo for me,my wife and family on ebay. You can at least cut the price of BP in half on ebay

Is the higher dollar stuff at places like BP worth the purchase? your answer is no. Bass Pro and Cabela's camo still wears out and fades after 2-3 seasons. i have been using Team Realtree Pro Staff (top of the line) clothing for the last few years and still replace them due to fading in about 3 seasons. my next set of camo's will be Predator. Casey
It gets really cold during the middle part of November when the rut hits, I want to find a wind stopper camo jacket and pants.
Flintlock1776
I found total back works great in a ground blind or my ladder stand. You can get black duds at Wal Mart. Keep yourself and your duds scent free; try and not move around too much when on stand or in a blind.
Rhino
Jeramie...I've found that no matter what the cost, cotton fabric fades a lot faster than synthetic fabric. I have some of RT's old "all purpose" camo in a synthetic fabric that I still use for turkey hunting and I'm real picky about matching my camo to spring green up when it comes to turkey hunting. That camo has to be over 12 years old since they quit making it back when they came out with the true brown and true grey patterns. Been lots of changes in RT camo patterns since then. Jeramie
I finally found a decent deal at BP. I picked up a pair of pants (thicker material) cut like jeans and a button up shirt for $50. Both are RT pattern. Im not crazy on how they fit but they look good. I then went to the Walmart by our office today and they have cammo in right now. Its all RT Hardwoods. Wrangler jeans (cammo) for $23. Bibs for $28 and button up shirts for $22. They have long sleeve wicking shirts for $13. Decent prices on good patterns! I've got 3 of them 1 fits fairly snug and the other two are loose fitting. When it's hot I wear one of the loose ones. Then I put the snug one on and one or two loose ones as it gets colder. If the wind isn't blowing those and a fleece jacket is all I need down to about 40.
hunterbobb
Scent control is more important than the camo you wear. Spend your money on scent control and just sit still. Any camo will work.

Any camo will work. I dont buy the built in scent control products. My clothes get washed in Sports wash and then hang outside everyday until season is over. Im very careful about scent but cant see spending the money on Carbon products.
