Got an Interesting Question!

Re: Got an Interesting Question!

Over long term averages, does give birth to a slightly higher percentage of bucks vs doe off spring, due to a naturally higher mortality rate of buck fawns.

For any given doe, I would imagine that it depends on many factors inclusive of nutrition, genetics, herd health, etc...

Re: Got an Interesting Question!

As with most animals it would be slightly more bucks than does.(ex. 52% bucks, 48% does). This is natures way of allowing for the fact that naturally males tend to have a higer mortality rate. Even in humans, there are more males than females born, but males die more frequently.

Haha i just read the whole thread...seems like me and superguide are on teh same wavelength.
