hungry hunter
Its not when but where. The 2009 scallop season opened on July 4, Friday, July 16, a local P.E. teacher was scalloping when he was run down by a speeding boat. He passed away at the ramp. Diver down flags are for safety but some people just ignore them and have to run 30+ mph on the water. I had a close call less then 25 feet from an out of state boater who ignored (2) diver down flags. And he gave me attitude when I bounched a rock off his hull. Anyhow just had to vent alittle, thanks and be safe. For those that don't know, you snorkle for scallops, in 3 to 8 feet of water and it is a great way for family to spend quality time together plus they are great eating. redkneck
I know what you mean. Last week while snorkeling on the coast the jetskis were bad even though there were divers in the same area I was in with flags up. Too many kids running wide open without a care in the world.
