If folks are really serious about hog control here in Texas, my family has a helicopter business that tracks them down and kills them from the air. I can tell you it's not hunting but errradicating just like rats in a resturant. PM me for more details. It's odd that some people charge for the right of shooting a feral hog and then there are some that will pay to get rid of them. Using helicopters and AR-15's is very effective, though is does cost some money. Ranchers and farmers will sometimes get together and chip in to help defray the cost. Of course the bigger the area the better. Depending on the size and location of a ranche(s), it's not uncommon to kill 100-200 in a day. Feral hogs...... kill them all, they are devestating animals to farmers and ranchers and cause over 50 million dollars in damage yearly here in Texas.
