Casey
Will show a two pictures when they are downloaded, of my work on the cutting and splitting wood. We spend over four hours throwing wood in a pile and some in my Tundra. We ain't done yet, not by a long shot, will show you a 1 1/2 days of work. Not bad when I'm splitting it with an axe/maul and my dad using a hand held splitter. Tundra with the wood we split today, then piled the rest back on our pile of wood in the above picture. This was at my uncle's house where the deer track pictures would taken, which is on "deer hunting" section on RT. dogdoc
When I was younger my dad and I used to cut firewood for some extra cash. He would cut then I would haul to the truck. We split the wood with a sledge hammer and wedge. That was some tough work. We sold the wood for $35 a rick and I got $5 of the $35. Wouldn't do that now for 5 bucks but I took the deal knowing he'd make me do it anyway.

redkneck
Man, I dont cut it like I used to. Back when my father in law was alive I think that's all we did. He wouldnt use anything but his fireplace for heat. He had a '69 one ton truck with a flat bed and a dump body. It easily held close to 2 cords of wood. Man he'd kill me loading wood every year. I really miss my fireplace, wife wanted we go to gas logs.
woolybear
That's one way to sleep good at night even when the woods all been split and stacked. Something about wood heat always feels better once winter sets in. Used to really enjoy cutting, splitting, hauling and stacking out in the barn. Great escape from the nagging ex who rarely stepped foot out the house. Spent many a night out there playing with my wood:clown:

wtnhunt
You have more in your truck there Casey than what I typically will burn in a year. I need to do a little work on my saw. Used to burn more wood than we do now. Have not decided for sure yet here if we are going with gas logs or wood burning fireplace in the house we are building. AdvantageTimberLou
Just wait till you have a baby and you have to get up and feed them in the middle of the night or see why they are crying. Then you will understand being truly tired! Nice load of wood there, always a good work out to cut up a truck load and great exercise! Ethan Givan
Whats a rick? A cord??? I dont know what a cord is but a rick is wood stacked 5 feet high by 8 feet long. About one truck bed full.
redkneck
I had no idea what a rick was. A cord is 4x4x8 feet, (or one stack of 24" wood 4' high and 16' long) and will not fit into the back of a truck.
Doe-ee
Is this big enough?? Is the furnace waiting to be installed or is it kept outside? Quite the monster.
