redkneck
Spent 6 hours in the rain with a rigger trying to get a 20k lb milling machine about 100 feet into a warehouse, finally got it in there to realize the sprinkler header was actually lower than the warehouse door (who's bright idea was that). Finally got back to work for a bit and wanted to check my cam on the way home. Started raining hard, the road to the back has already gotten so bad I was in 4WD all the time, half the time in passing gear trying to make it up the red clay hills...... finally get back to my cam, get home load all my pics, discover I had bumped the stupid settings to like 2 pics per minute, so my mem card was slam full of nannies, spikes and a coonapalooza. What we go through to just get a stinking pic of a deer is crazy. :hammer1:

layin on the smackdown
I feel your pain John boy...Checked one of my cameras the other day, and it had 56 pics on it...I was like SWEEEEEEET!!!!! I know there has to be a giant in velvet on there...So i go home and download all the pics onto the computer and guess what...I got 56 pictures of standing corn blowing in the wind....it filled the remaining space on my memory card in one day, so it basically just sat ther for 11 days not taking pictures....:bang:

I know there has to be a giant in velvet on there... That's nothing! Try getting all jacked up after seeing 1,100 pictures, then realize ANTS got in to the camera the same day you put it up and triggered the sensor every minute until the camera ran out of batteries 3 days later without getting a single picture of a deer! This happens to at least one of our cameras EVERY SINGLE time we hang em! But of course we have to go through every picture, you know, just in case! Bud, the sun will shine tomorrow! Gator
What kind of milling machine? We all have them days, I went to Kansas Mon, came back Tues, woke up to trespassers and druggies on the property next to me. Ended up coming home from work early and calling the Sheriffs office. They were gone by the time the deputy showed up an hour later, but I helped them get out of there and told them to NEVER come back, LOL!!! Maybe you should stake your corn so it don't blow around Dan! What kind of milling machine? Some big old Oleffson twin spindle vertical machine, a custom job from MI. I dont know why in the crap someone would build a machine that heavy on a narrow base, with only four 6x6 pads on the bottom to lift on. No cross braces, just the pads. Soooo..... you have to share the pad space with timbers so you can get the forks under and out of it. Then it's raining so things are slippery. No hoist rings on the top of the 10' tall machine, and a slope to go up and potholes in the parking lot. The rigger almost dropped it TWICE! Thought I was going to have to change my shorts a time or two before we got it set down on the floor.
