Stone Cold
I am wanting to get a dog and train him to shed hunt. What is the best breed for this along with being a good ol dog for home too?
layin on the smackdown
I am a Lab owner, so this may sound biased, but i wouldn't hesitate to say that a lab is the best dog for just about anything, house dog, waterfowl, upland game, tracking, search and rescue etc. I say this because they are a low aggression dog with a flamming desire to please. They are extremely versitile, are extraordinarily intelligent, and can learn just about anything with the appropriate training. My vote goes to the Labrador...there are an infinite number of reasons why Labs are America's #1 dog... good luck in your pursuit. shedhunternick
Ive read that labs are the best dog for the job from www.antlerdogs.com website and many other websites. I have owned a lab in the past and will be getting a new one soon and everything said about them in the above posts is true....Truly awesome dogs. redkneck
I'm with Dan, and I'd say a female would be a better choice and that's just based on the ones I've had over the years.
Kels
Almost any hunting or tracking breed would be able to suite your needs. Aswell as many other breeds, but Id still agree that labs are always a great stand by. all around great dogs when trained well.
