crazylegz70
I know you guys are sick of hearing about Mountain Lion Stories in Illinois, but i had a buddy call me a while back and swear that he had a picture of a mountain lion that was across the road from his house....Of course the picture isnt the greatest....I was thinking deer, coyote, bobcat....UNTIL i zoomed in....his exact words were, "There is NO doubt what I was looking at and it was not a bobcat" He said that at the distance he saw it, it should have looked small and it was HUGE. You be the judge, i want to see one if they are in Illinois and will prolly be skeptical until i do. Here ya go you be the judge...... Ethan Givan
Mountain Lions have a long curved tail and I dont see it in the pics. I cant really tell but it almost looks like a really, really big bobcat. idk i guess it could be a lion but it just dont look right.
Tominator
No doubt in my mind, that's a yote or stray dog, but I'm leaning towards yote.
NY_Bowhunter14
definitely not a mountain lion... you can tell that the face isn't rounded, like that of a cat... you can see what looks like a snout, that of a dog... definitely isn't any kind of cat though... Tom2008
Coyote for sure or dog. There is no way that is a mountain lion. Don't see how that could be mistaken for one.
crazylegz70
I was kinda thinking a coyote myself also......thanks for the input guys

dartonman
Ill bet if you drive around long enough...you'll find that dog....it looks to me with the color phases/saddle back coloring to be a mixed dog, maybe collie or aussie mix...........heavy dog/large build for a yote.......al
MichiganHunter517
Yote all the way!! If you look closely you can notice the ears come to a sort of point to where a mountain lions are very rounded and they have very long and lean bodies built for running. Yote for sure! Pretty decent sized one too.. whack em.. and stack em!
Shaun_300
Coyote was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the pic too, no way that's any kind of cat.
HUNTINGMAN
Coyote or chupicabra.
crazylegz70
I have decided its a Chipicabra aka "The goat sucker"....good call Huntingman....I LOVE IT!
layin on the smackdown
I'll be as honest as Honest Abe...The second pic makes it extremely hard to distinguish between a cat, dog or stuffed teddy bear...I can't see how anyone is claiming that is either by the second pic...Way too distorted/pilxelated. in the first pic, my first instinct was a coyote...however, when you look at it long enough, there is no tail whatsoever, and in either situation, cat or dog, a tail should be visible somewhere, unless it is a dog with a rat tail or stub. So, i have come to the conclusion that your buddy took a Rienhart Coyote target and set it up in the field, then took a picture of it. If any of you have ever shot at this target you will see the resemblance big time. There are no spaces between the legs, as if it is stuck in the ground by stakes... chaseasl
definitely not a lion, looks like a dog or big coyote
coles
the neck is to long to be a lion. i say coyote
wtnhunt
Not a mountain lion, sorry Lance. No way. Body shape on that animal is all wrong. Lions have longer more slinky bodies and are not that long legged looking.
buckee
No doubt in my mind, that's a yote or stray dog, but I'm leaning towards yote. Looks like a yote to me too, just from it's stature. Cat's are lower to the ground.
