Guest Squirrelbuster
Re: NY deer Hunters ? [ QUOTE ] No, the disruption could wind up to be the replacement of one of our bow weeks with a crossbow week. [/ QUOTE ] Like I said, if they did it where there was a week shared with the bow hunters, like the muzzleloader season is being proposed, then you wouldn't be losing a week, it would till be there. cutter10x
Re: NY deer Hunters ? adk your just a big whiner.i totally understand what will happen first........ok give me five for not wanting it..........how in **** do think it would effect you hunting if they allow crossbows at the same time.......i cant see if they want to take your season which i dont see why they would.......but just allowing crossbows at the same time......i think it could be benifical to both younger hunter by getting them in the field, and also older hunters to keep them in the field........now tell me 5 good reasons not to.......... NY911Bowhunter
Re: NY deer Hunters ? First off, CTX - where do you get off ripping into Dave like that - we do NOT tolerate that nonsense here - period. You owe ADK an apology - forthwith. We dont put up with your kind of crap here - this thread has been heated but civil up to this point. There is far too much valauble info posterd here to risk getting it locked or deleted. Knock off your nonsense now........
GWSmith
Re: NY deer Hunters ? NY911Bowhunter, Your wasting your time. Its apparent the only reason he is here is to start trouble. Now...Personally Cutter....I dont think you would use that kind of judgement if you were standing in front of him. ADKhunter... He's a decent guy with good values...I should know...I hunt with him. I have been to his home and seen how he treats his family and how he loves and cares for his wife and children is beyond reproach. I have to tell you that as a hunter he is very capable of accomplishing the task. He does not talk what he cant walk......... I'm sure that you are another story
Guest Squirrelbuster
Re: NY deer Hunters ? [ QUOTE ] SB..who many more hunting impliments do you want in the field???? How about a freek'in M1A2 Abrams?? How about a AT-4..kill'em and dress them in one shot? Using a rifle is not good enough? A shotgun must suck! Heck, muzzleloaders.....too backyard, right? And a bow??? I won't even go there! I can just imagine what your excuse is for wanting another hunting impliment to be legal here in NY is? Give me a good argument for the able hunter wanting the Xbow and I can give you at least 5 for not wanting it! Strike that....it isn't even on the table or this forum space! Some people will never change...put a keyboard in front of them and the hands move along the keys so fast the brain can't catch up..in the end.....you still don't know what side you are on, and you typed it! [/ QUOTE ] I can't help the fact that I love to hunt in as much ways as possible. So the answer is yes, I wouldn't mind another form of hunting implement to be legalized in New York. Not only would it diversify the styles of hunting for me, that diversity of hunting would make it even more harder for anti-hunters, because instead of getting rid of hunting, more hunting would be allowed. As far as all of those other weapons you mentioned, thats just plain stupid, because me and hopefully any other hunter in this world would not be as unethical as to even think of using something like that. Guest Squirrelbuster
Re: NY deer Hunters ? [ QUOTE ] Squirrelbuster, Its called "SARCASM"...get a dictionary [/ QUOTE ] I can easily tell what sarcism is but what is the point in putting that in there, it does nothing to support what he is saying. There is a difference between allowing ethical weapons (rifles, shotguns, muzzleloaders, bows, and crossbows) and allowing weapons such as the the ones he stated. RangerClay
Re: NY deer Hunters ? How about taking the crossbow issue somewhere else? Since this is not on the DEC's table for this year why argue now? This issue is a no-win argument so if I might humbly suggest, let's stick to the topics at hand I come to this topic to find out how the meetings are going. Doc
Re: NY deer Hunters ? When it comes to petty arguments and name calling, you can leave me out. I am just here representing the position of most serious bowhunters and really trying to keep personalities out of it. I must admit that this whole discussion does bring about a rather comical mental picture of a hunter standing in the woods with a confused look on his face and a muzzleloader slung over his shoulder and a crossbow in one hand and a bow in the other. Doc
Re: NY deer Hunters ? [ QUOTE ] I do remember a few including myself engaging in petty arguments...... That could be an aweful lot of posts to remember. LOL [/ QUOTE ] And hopefully we get over that kind of nonsense and grow just a bit. This topic of crossbows has the potential of re-igniting that kind bickering, as we're starting to see. It just seems to be a good time to take a deep breath and get back to reasonable discussion without the "whiner" comments and anything else that may spin off of those kinds of personal attacks. Seems reasonable to me! Doc
