Where does your quiver go?...

I started taking it off a couple years ago. I usually use the excess line from my safety harness attachment rope and tie my quiver to it. From experience, anything not tied to the tree has a good chance of ending up on the forest floor 30 feet below me. A real pain when you have a climber.

I have a quick question but I don't want to hi-jack the post, I see that alot of people take their quiver off when hunting, Why is that? reduce vibration/noise after the shot or make the bow lighter? Sorry for the off-topic question. I may have to start taking mine off now.

I suppose there are a couple reasons.

1. The less things I'm moving around getting ready for my shot the better. The chances of an arrow falling out of the quiver as you rasie your bow are low, but zero when it isn't attached. In addition with the quiver off there is less chance of me snagging a branch with it as I prepare for the shot.

2. Less weight.

Actually most people take it off because that added weight makes you tend to cant the bow to the side. The more you cant the bow the more left or right arrow flight you will get.

Ditto.

Also assuming you don't put a death grip on your bow, when you release your arrow the added weight to the quiver's side of your bow will cause it drop off in that direction.

If you practice shooting with your quiver off, you should hunt with it off.

I practice with it on and leave it on. Not only is another arrow immediately available if needed, it serves as cover. A bow with a rack full of arrows really breaks up your outline. Many times hiding behind my bow w/arrows was just enough to put the deer at ease. On the ground and in a tree.

my quiver goes in my pack with the fletching up. when i get to the tree i hang my pack. this way i can get to an arrow easily and they are out of the way. i always shoot without my quiver on, but if your going to be doing any spot and stalk hunting, it might be a good idea to pratice shooting with it on.

Leave mine on.

It's the way I shoot the bulls-eyes.

It's the way I shoot the bucks.

Would hate to second guess a shot op if lack of time to undress my bow were ever to become an issue.

Practice and hunt with a shirt on too for the same reason.

Probably saved myself a few hundred bucks over the years not laying my quiver on the forest floor when I get to tracking hit critters.

Like most of these guys, I take it off and hang it either on a bow hook or a tree limb that's out of my way yet still in arms reach.

If I have absolutely nowhere to put it, I'll take an arrow out and rest the individual arrow somewhere and tie the quiver to the bow hoist and lower it to the ground.
