HunterLuke
What does everybody pack for their deer hunts to keep themself fed wether it's just a morning hunt or an all day hunt? If I'm just hunting morning-noon I'll eat a poptart before I leave and pack a bottle of water with a packet of kool-aide mix and either a PB&J or bologna sandwhich with a candy bar. If it's a morning-evening all day hunt I'll eat that morning and pack 2 sandwhiches either PB&J or bologna sandwhiches. 2 bottles of water and 2 kool-aide packet mixes, couple candy bars and sometimes a can of beenie weanies. That usually holds me untill I kill something or go home and eat a good meal.

If I take anything with me its usually some water, a candy bar and a sandwich of some kind.

layin on the smackdown
i generally don't pack much to eat. If its an all day sit, i'll bring a granola bar or something and a stick of jerky and a bottle of water. Half day hunts i don't bring anything - maybe i'll bring a small bottle of water but thats it. Morning and evening hunts, nothing. a soduku book helps me forget about being hungry...and i still suck at soduku...:bang:

GWSmith
I eat a regular breakfast most of the time since I hunt all day 99% of the time(eggs, wheat toast, coffee, and apple juice). 2 bottled Water, apple or fruit bars, and bag of M&M peanuts for the backpack. If it's cold I'll carry the water in my thermos(all metal-I can heat it over the pack stove). If I'll be hunting in snow I'll carry some teabags and use melted snow for the water. LOL...I'm tough on that poor little thermos:chair:

Stinger-Hunter
Hey guys, a word to the wise. When you eat protein, it heats your body up and keeps you warm. So eat eggs, peanut butter, cottage cheese or other hardy types on those cold mornings rather than cereal or oatmeal - it'll keep you in your stand longer. Having said that, def water or gatorade, powerbar (already unwrapped), ham sandwich (in Minnesota), some warm water or coffee in a thermos. rookieee
water and jerky
Tominator
Sometimes an apple or peanut butter sammmmich. Sometimes a candybar, but most times I just dream of breakfast or cheeseburgers at LuLu's while in the stand. In the evening, Tom can attest, I usually say "I wonder if my wife made dinner for me." She never does, but I can dream, right?
Hoosierbuck
I eat a bagel or two thick with cheese and ham then toasted in the toaster oven for breakfast, a big cup of coffee for the road. For all day hunts I take and apple and some water. Maybe a thermos of coffee if it's really cold out. I keep a gallon jug of water in the truck, and usually some trail mix to help me get home without stopping for junk food at a gas station. I like to keep hunger to a dull roar, but I am there to hunt, not eat. I have heard it said that a hungry wolf hunts better. HB
Rhino
I always carry water. About the only time I'll carry food is when I'm staying in the same stand all day long. On those all day hunts I'll carry and apple or 2, some cookies, maybe a candy bar, maybe a sandwitch, and some extra water bottles. If I'm hunting all day with plans to switch stands I'll leave a sandwitch, chips, candy bars, and cookies in my truck for a lunch break while switching stands. I might carry an apple or 2 with me, along with some water to the stand on those days. Outside of all day hunting plans, I just carry water. gobblerroller
Well, if it's just a morning hunt I don't bring anything. I always eat a big breakfast before any hunt. If it's an all day hunt I'll pack a small bottle of water and a turkey and mustard sandwich. I'm not a big eater during hunts. And by the way, always bring an empty bottle in case nature happens to call. Gobblerroller
Tecumseh
Bagels and coffee in the morning and I take a couple of energy bars and gatorade with me in the woods.
redkneck
I generally dont eat in the morning. I'll usually come out around ten or so and if there's enough guys at the camp to bother with cooking, someone will fry up some eggs and deer sausage. We always keep some deer meat handy at the camp, and if there's not any, we'll just go get some!

Doe-ee
We usually take lots of coffee, trail mix, sometimes a granola bar and pepperoni. Then we stop in at Timmies on the way home for more coffee to hold us over for the 10 minutes it takes to get home where we make (you guessed it) a pot of coffee. Sometimes we just take coffee.
