Dawg
To music while on your stand? I've seen a few pro's do it and know a couple of guys that do. If so, what kind of music? As for me, I don't because I like to listen to nature, I've thought about bringing some tunes with me before but haven't yet.
Stone Cold
I have 50% hearing in my left ear so right there is a downfall enough for me for hearing deer. I rather not so that I can hear the deer walking. I enjoy to listen to the woods come to life and settle down so that is what I say. It is my peace time away from work and the family. Nothing in the world could sooth me better than that!

wtnhunt
Nope, listen to what is going on around me. Have had too many deer sneak in on me that I never would have seen had I not heard them first.
redkneck
Nope, listen to what is going on around me. Have had too many deer sneak in on me that I never would have seen had I not heard them first. +1 Hunting the woods, you'll almost always hear the deer before you see them, and hunting a food plot I'm not going to miss out on a grunt or bleat/snort because I got earbuds jammed in my ear. ALTHOUGH.......... On rare occasion with a good grudge match college football game, I have found myself unable to decide what to do, watch at the camp, or go hunting, and I have taken my MP3 player to the stand. Maybe do this once or twice a year. I love college football.
Rhino
You gotta be kiddin me! The only time I listen to music when I'm in a stand is if someone driving down the county road has his boom box turned up so bloomin load I can hear it from my stand as he drives by. I prefer to listen to all the natural sounds of the woods environment along with any sound a deer might make to give away his location before the deer comes into view. layin on the smackdown
Not here either...I soak up every minute of being in the stand and getting to listen to the sounds of nature coming to life...its a slice of heaven if you ask me. Not to mention, about 98% of the time, you hear whats coming before you see it. I think you would be eliminating one of your best tools by doing so...Although i did watch Mr. Waddell jam out on the air guitar while listening to tunes while he was elk hunting on one show, but im not him... Ethan Givan
Nope...I cant even stand to wear a hood over my head or a knit cap when its really cold because I feel like I cant hear. I usually hear deer along time before I ever see them
coles
the only time i have takin my ipod with me was on an elk hunting trip. The horseback ride was 9 hours long and 22 miles. I listened to it then and right before i went to sleep at night. I have a really hard time getting to sleep it if is dead quiet so quiet music helps. I love laying in a sleeping bag and listening to the wood stove pop more than music though.

J.ALLEN.IA
On days where I go into a long duration in the stand just hoping to see something, I'll take my MP3 player having 1 ear in turned on just enough to hear it to keep me awake and busy enough not to get bored or fall asleep. I'll take them off later in the hunt as it gets closer to times I've spotted dear.

HUNTINGMAN
The whole reason to be out hunting is to get away from it all and injoy natures beauty,Im not going to listen to anything other than mother nature when I am in the woods. If I was a big time TV pro and was a shooter and not a hunter, where the deer walk in the feilds like cattle,I might listne to some tunes while in my luxery blind. GWSmith
I'll be honest with you...I personally cant keep up with everything that is going on while out in the woods. There is so much to see and hear I don't believe that anyone could truly take it all in and process the information. One of the most beautiful confusions in life to me is..."Is that a leaf falling to the ground, a squirrell moving around, or will my heartbeat race as I try to settle the pin or crosshairs behind the shoulder". There has never been a song written to bring me that kind of satisfaction all the while having the backround sounds of geese flying overhead and the occasional bluejay or crow that believes I'm in his tree. I want to hear the brush rustle, hear the leaf get crunched and the twigs muffled snap, before I see the slender legs moving my way. LOL...so the answer to your question is...NO The irony is that I made this post with my wireless headphones on listening to The Sportsmans Channel! slughunter
This is the main reason why I hunt Tower/box blinds and ground blinds so much and not tree stands, im a teenager with just about the worst case of ADD ever, so I bring a lot of stuff with me into the tower stand or ground blind. Anything from a laptop, smartphone, magazine, videocamera, Ipod, DVD player, and such. Some people might frown upon it but it keeps me relaxed and out there longer. -shane
c_lou
No music here. I don't read either. I know some folks that take a book or mag out there. You got to be on 100% alert when hunting.
Strut10
No way. I go hunting to get away from noise pollution. Only music I listen to in the woods is made by cardinals, chickadees, etc.
