ruttinbuc
Good for Cliff Lee! Now he has a chance to get a WS ring to go with his Cy Young ring.
The_Kat
I was tickled to see him leave Cleveland. They're terrible and Lee deserves a little backup!
buckbuster11
And they didn't even get one of Phillies top 2 or 3 prospects is what makes it a really curious move.:laser:

MCH
Looks like V-mart is headed to the Red Sox. Reports are saying that Bucholz isn't included, so could it be another raping??? Masterson is included though along with another prospect......word is that they're not through adding prospects so this could end up being good for the Tribe. muggs
Are you comparing last years Cy Young winner to Nate McClouth? Usually teams wait to around deadline time, when they're official out of the race to make trades...sort of like the Pirates did with the other 7 guys they traded. The McClouth deal just made no sense, other than the fact they must have been trying to put all doubt aside about whether or not they care what their fans think... I mean, at that time it actually looked like they may have been able to compete for their division.:laser: btw- the name of this smiley guy is "laser." Makes me wish I would have thought of that for a nickname for a few guys who lived in my dorm freshman year.
buckbuster11
You obviously don't know the Pirates. They do this every year. Hence the 16 straight sub .500 seasons. Besides you are kidding yourself if you think that team in early June had a shot at winning the division. Trading everybody for the best prospects they can get is the only way they are ever going to have a chance to win. BTW-- is this supposed to be a Nomar Garciaparra illustration? ----->:stretcher:

Under the Dolan's, the Tribe at least resigns them for their first contract renewal and then let's them walk when their All-Stars. Hence the near WS miss in '07 and the fact they're one of the better teams every year most times. They re-up'd Sizemore, Hafner (when he was actually good), VMart, Carmona (when he was actually good), and Jhonny (when he was actually good). Btw- not Garciaparra, that's actually a foreshadow to Big Ben this year with that Oline he has blocking for him.
buckbuster11
I don't think this new GM will. They are cleaning house, and cleaning cap so they can start signing the young guys instead of paying 8 mil a year for stiffs like Jack Wilson and Adam LaRoche. Our GM was plucked from the Indians front office last year remember? I would expect to see the same format being used here that is used in Cleveland.
