VermontHunter
I went to the proshop yesterday to have some new silencers installed on my string ( I went with the Bow Jax II ) and have my bow gone over, which I like to do once a year. And noticed that the owner had a different rest installed on his AM .. So I went into the inquiry mode .. It's the NEW 2009 Mid Altantic Archery Tri-Vanishing Arow rest This thing is sweet and super quite ... I was amazed, just how quite ... The owner of the shop I go to loves this rest, and he was a firm believer in nothing but the QAD Rest and the Rip Cord Rest .. You can see a video clip of this rest at this link .. http://www.midatlanticarchery.com/ http://www.midatlanticarchery.com/tri-van-video.php (video clip ) Edited August 2, 2009 by VermontHunter

VermontHunter
looks kinda like a bowtech hostage, just im sure triple the price WRONG ... The Bowtech Hostage is a self contained rest, if I wanted that I'd stay with my WB Rest which has proven it'self to be very effective for what it is .. See no moving parts and stays in contact with the arrow ... and cost $ 69.00 .. HOSTAGE REST The Mid Atlantic Rest is a full cotainment rest that has the advantages of a drop away rest, watch this video .. ( http://www.midatlanticarchery.com/tri-van-video.php ) and cost $99.00 installed at the shop I go to ( not the tripple cost that you suggested) .. See you need to look beyond the brand specifics ... I shoot a Hoyt because I'm serious about how and what I hunt with .. See how foolish that sounds .. :nono:

VermontHunter
How much are they Luke? Tom2008
Check this one out too Luke. Personallythink it would be a little nicer than having brushes. http://www.athensarchery.com/alpha.html

Still a great concept I think ..
acetum
That looks nice... but to me it seems a little busy... What if some thing went wrong and one of the brushes didn't release... I think I might give it a try though... after this hunting season....

What if some thing went wrong and one of the brushes didn't release... I think I might give it a try though... after this hunting season.... Mo more moving parts than what the drop away rest have .. and my understanding from what I was shown at the pro shop, is that if this rest was to fail the brushes could be put into a locked position, making it usable like a WB Rest .. Gator
To many moving parts for my tastes, I'll stick with my trusty ole Trophy Taker
okiedog
To many moving parts for my tastes Same here. I'am not saying it isn't a good rest, just not one that I personally would hunt with.

Ethan Givan
Think I will stick with my whisker biscuit. Its cheaper and there is no moving parts to mess up.
VermontHunter
Too many moving parts ,,, now that funny coming from drop away rest users ... LOL Anyone have any idea of how many internal moving parts there are in a ... Trophy Taker Rest, QAD Rest, Ripcord Rest and so on ?? .. LOL Anyone have any idea of how many internal moving parts there are in a ... Trophy Taker Rest, QAD Rest, Ripcord Rest and so on ?? .. I see one moving part on this Trophy Taker, compared to the 3 pivoting parts plus the moving part that triggers them on the rest you are showing. I know there are internal parts (springs, etc) but on a drop away you have one action/movement compared to the 4 on the other rest. But note if there is a failure of the trigger mechanism, the brushes can be locked into a shooting position manually. Can any of the dropaway rests do this function if they fail ?? I'm still torn between the QAD rest and this NEW style rest and my mind isn't 100% made up as of yet ..
