But note if there is a failure of the trigger mechanism, the brushes can be locked into a shooting position manually. Can any of the dropaway rests do this function if they fail ??

Do they need to? If a rest fails at the moment of truth shot, I dont think there is much of a need to reset the rest to a locked position...lol

Oh... I feel your pain on the lefty stuff:)

That's just my point, if the the bristles fail to drop the shaft will still clear the rest as if it were a WB rest .. ;)

If a drop away rest fails to drop or raise to the shooting position the rest is useless .. See what I'm getting at ??

But from what I hear about the QAD, and the Ripcord Cord Rest they are almost bullet proof .. ;)

I would really love to try out the QAD rest ...

Yep, being a lefty is difficult in the archery world .. :(

Yes..but.... if a fall away fails to drop at its pivot point it shoots like a prong style rest. If that rest fails to retract on all 3 pivot points at the time, yes it will shoot like a WB, but if one or two pivot points fail to retract.......

Sounds like more of a Hoyt issue to me....:smoke:

Yep, it is. Thats why I said "if not set-up correctly on a Hoyt." I know a lot of Hoyt shooters that do use them and they work just fine. Just couldn't get it to work for me.

Personally don't like it anyway. Limbdriver seems to be a lot more accurate to me and reliable.

It all comes down to what works for you, Tom. There are too many devices out there to try them all. I 'd like to get a string depressor, but do I "really" need one? My brother is looking to put a drop away rest on his bow. He shoots the eyes out of quarters at 30 yards with a TM hunter rest and I ask him why!

Very true and my problem is because I'm too curious and I want to try it. I've used Whisker Biscuits, Ripcord Rest, QAD Pro Hunter Rest, G5 Expert II regular and Hoyt model, two different styles of Trophy Taker rests, and right now I have a Vaportrail Limbdriver. Yeah I've used tons of stuff that works great, but I keep changing it . The reason is because I like to try everything out there. I have found lots of good in everything I used. I sell archery equipment every day to customers and I like to tell them what works and what doesn't work. This way I am able to tell them anything they need to know about the product they are looking at. I give them the pros and cons to each and try and get them out the door with the best product for their needs and equipment.

Yes, If I was selling the stuff I'd need to know, too.
