RTF
Would you spend $6,0000.00 for a deer mount ? http://cgi.ebay.com/206-Whitetail-Deer-Shoulder-Mount_W0QQitemZ220459632089QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item33546b05d9&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
okiedog
Since I live in Oklahoma I proable would to see a deer that size, but if I was in Ohio...NO WAY! Tons of deer like that up there. Seriously though.. There is proable some collector or lodge out there that would give that price.. I dont know any of them though.
jesse8953
You would have to be crazy to pay that for a deer mount.:hammer1:Bet he don't sell it!
Ethan Givan
Heck no i wouldnt pay that. That buck is ugly btw.
redkneck
Well, I wouldnt pay $50 for it either ('cept to resell it) I'm not in the habit of displaying other folk's trophies on my wall. But.... if I'm a bass pro shop or some other big retailer needing some decor, or a collector, then that price certainly is not unheard of. Tom2008
I wouldn't even look at it. You forgot to add the $250.00 shipping charge though! :jaw:
sskybnd
i wouldnt pay for it either, but being its on e-bay im sure theres some one out there that would buy it. crazy to think that they guy that shot it would be selling it, truely a once in a life time buck
Wimpy
The guy that mounted it mounted my turkey. He is an exceptional taxidermist. I also seen that the seller was the taxidermists name, just wondering if that is him selling it. I know he didn't kill it. I wouldn't want it if I didn't kill it! fly
No, Like the others if it goes on my wall I'd have to harvest it. I'd never sell my deer heads unless the price meant I'd be able to send all my kids to any college they wanted to go to.

But.... if I'm a bass pro shop or some other big retailer needing some decor, or a collector, then that price certainly is not unheard of. Gotta agree with this. Nice to look at but no way I would pay for a deer I did not kill to hang it on my wall. Figure some chain store retailer might buy it, have seen ads in the paper here for a buyer of antlers and finished taxidermy work.
Nickel
No way would i buy that to put on my personal trophy wall. But at my grandads sportsbar i buy cheaper deer mounts to place up there.
AaronS
It looks like the $6000 is for the size of the antlers, not just for any old mount. I for one wouldn't want it, but there are alot of antler collectors out there that would, and if that's what they're into that's fine with me. Not much different than a kid collecting baseball cards in my book.
ruttinbuc
As far as I know most if not all of the mounts in Cabelas and Bass Pro are replicas of the original. Pretty expensive when they put them in all the stores. If they do have the original antlers with the history behind it I can imagine it would bring a high price. How high is the question... http://www.whitetailfanatic.com/html/rc_wdh_values.shtml Edited August 5, 2009 by ruttinbuc

Dakota
And Chris says there ain't big deer in Ohio! Nope, unless I was a big hunting retailer I wouldn't spend a penny on that deer since I didn't harvest it. Dakota

backwoods07
I would never do it, and apparently no one on Ebay would either. Bidding has ended with 0 bids. Not to mention the $250 shipping fee that he's charging...
swohiodave
no way, i would not want to display a mount from a deer i did not harvest!
