oldksnarc
I agree. He went with obama's blessing. He couldn't have flown to NK on a government plane with government staff without prior approval of the administration. The release has been being negotiated since there conviction. I'm surprised it was Clinton and not Gore.
wtnhunt
One might wonder what kind of conversations Clinton had with Il and what type of promises Clinton made to him in order to negotiate the release of the two women.
Dawg
The White House claims to not of had a hand in this and said that Clinton was on a Humanitarian Mission. He flew in a private business jet with ex-White House execs of his. Perhaps Obama knew about it, but I think if he (Obama) had any hand in it he would have already put himself in the spotlight over it. One might wonder what kind of conversations Clinton had with Il and what type of promises Clinton made to him in order to negotiate the release of the two women. I wonder the same. Who knows! Look at the picture of Clinton and Il, Il has a big grin on his face, Clinton doesn't.

Don't think Obama had anything to do with it if he even knew Clinton was involved prior. Think it very likely if Obama had any involvement whatsover he would be tooting his own horn:toot: and the media would be exploiting it. I wonder the same. Who knows! Texan_Til_I_Die
Here's the thing - the U.S. doesn't want any "official" ties to North Korea since we have them listed as a terrorist sponsor. So to keep up the appearance that we won't deal with or bargain with a terrorist state, we send a private citizen, in this case Bill Clinton, to go over and kowtow to Kim Jong Il and then bring our people back. Gator
One might wonder what kind of conversations Clinton had with Il and what type of promises Clinton made to him in order to negotiate the release of the two women. That's my line of thinking as well. Unfortuantely, the world may never know. BUT I would bet that Obama knew Clinton was going over there, someone HAD to talk to N Koreato get clearance for that plane to land. On a side note, I hope that Clinton left them poor girls alone, I'm sure they've been traumatized enough:bat:
Jeramie
I'm surprised it was Clinton and not Gore. They probably wouldnt have let Gore step foot in the country.... I wish we could get him out of ours!

stevebeilgard
you know that there were back door deals made before clinton even left the u.s. for over there. this is a publicity stunt clearly saying that we americans now, will indeed, negotiate with terrorist nations. oldksnarc
And there will be more to come. We already started apologizing for being the greatest country on earth while helping virtually every nation on earth.
