DocMort
Thats true he could be a whopper next year but whose to say a hunter on over the next property doesn't put the smack down. I might pass him up the first time. well... Nah he would get whacked. Absolutely giant 6, if his body looks to be like a 3 1/2 year old needs to be taken from the herd. Thats true, another hunter might shoot that buck but thats what happens when you decide to pass up a buck. Happens to me and I'm sure everyone else. Chance you take. Not that any of us know his situation with neighboring land, but if it is with people who shoot whatever then you might not get another crack at that buck. Some people just don't understand that I guess.

I'd like to see Ethan shoot this buck either way, but I'm saying if it was me, I'd let this buck walk. It always comes back to how you want to be viewed as a hunter. I like to practice QDM. Ethan Givan
I dont know what the situation of the neighboring land is. I dont even know if there are any hunters around. I will find out this fall. Me and my cousin have exsclusive rights to this farm so I dont have to worry about anyone else killing him on this farm. Unless my cousin shoots him...which if he gets the chance he probably will. Time will tell.
DocMort
What I am saying if you practice QDM then this buck if a 2 1/2 or 3 1/2 year old would be bad genetics right?

If thats a 2 1/2 old buck, then he'll be twice that next fall. He might take a jump even at 3 1/2. I think his genetics are good.

You can't really say for sure that he will boost, but there is only one way to find out. We'll let Eathan choose what to do.

wtnhunt
Will be interesting to see how much he thickens up as it draws nearer to season opening up. From those pics, I would tend to think he is likely at least a 3.5 year old. Body is just too squared looking to me to think he is any younger than that. No doubt in the backyard here he would be a shooter.
DocMort
The only sound you would here coming from me if he walked by would MEHH, THWACK. Good luck Ethan
