backwoods07
Our house seems like it is being overrun by chipmunks. They're diggin up the landscaping and takin down the plants in the garden. I'm all for pickin em off one by one with my bow or settin a bucket trap up to drown em, but my mother has asked me to get rid of them humanely I'm looking for traps, but have no idea where to get them. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of them or where I can find traps? Thanks!

redkneck
my mother has asked me to get rid of them humanely I'd say go with a havahart, you can pick them up almost anywhere.
Tominator
Regular ol' mouse traps work on them. Bait them with a Ritz cracker dipped in some peanut butter. You can get mouse traps at Home Depot or Lowes.
Dakota
I hear 330 Conibears work well! Just kidding, that's a beaver/otter/predator trap. I'd recommend the havaheart, common mouse traps and maybe a 110 conibear or #0 longspring. Dakota
birdhunter39
if you've ben practicing with the bow a good heart or lung shot will exterminate them rather humanly . set out a few cams to look for a trophy
redkneck
Don't forget the sticky pads. Man I think you could catch a hog on one if they made them big enough.
backwoods07
Well, despite all of your great suggestions, I decided to do it the easiest way possible. Wait til mother is gone, and get the bow out. So, about 8 am, right before work, I spotted a critter in my mom's garden. Everyone had already left the house, so I grabbed the judo point tipped Axis and my Bear. I let one fly from 12 yds and eliminated one piece of the problem. Mother won't be finding out about this one!
Shaun_300
They sure can be a pain in the rear end. We usually thin a few out out at grans every fall with the pellet guns or .22s, I'll probably try twackin' a few out with the bow this year myself too. dlriggins
Have you tried the 12-6 program it involves a 12 guage and a six pack. of course I would never recommend both at the same time shooting and alcohol should never be combined
