Choice of .22 Rifle

Which rifle would you guys rather have? A Thompson Center Classic, Thompson Center Benchmark Classic, Remington 504, or the Ruger 10/22T Target Rifle. The gun would mainly be used for squirrels and target shooting.

Re: Choice of .22 Rifle

Terry, I would go with the 10/22, but if you are actually talking about the target model bull barrel 10/22 I'd think again.

I have two standard 10/22's, one blued and one stainless, and i own one bull barrel target model.

The bull barrel is no better at the range than the others, and awful heavy to carry squirrel hunting.

My bull barrel is a little longer than the standards, but the extra barrel length doesn't seem to help it any on the range.

I have found that at 50 to 75 yards all are about the same.

The bull barrel target model don't shoot any better at 100 yards than the others.

Just my personal observations. .....popgun

Re: Choice of .22 Rifle

That's quite the range you have there. You have a $200 gun (10/22), $250 one(TC Classic), $350 one (TC Benchmark), and a $550 gun (Rem). Out of those guns, I would choose the 10/22 and customize it. In the end, you will have a gun that costs the same as the Rem but will outshoot it and be a lot of fun since you can get some high capacity magazines (depending on what state your from).
