OJR
Another WWII veteran in our area has passed away. This veteran was committed to helping his community in several different ways. He was instrumental in leading the American Legion baseball program to one of the finest in the country. He will be missed greatly. Funeral is tomorrow and I have been asked to give a short eulogy! Not a happy time for me, but I will do it!

c_lou
Sorry to hear that we lost another. My thoughts and Prayers are with you and the family. We are losing this Generation at an alarming rate. They did the world a favor and asked for nothing in return. God Bless them.

OJR
Just got home and there were a lot of people there. He was really well liked in the community. The poor guy ended up with Alzheimer's! What a horrible disease. After all he had been through and then have to go that way! Horrible! redkneck
Sorry about your friend, Orlan. You're right, alzheimer's is a terrible way to watch someone with a sharp mind and so much to share just deteriorate so quickly. I have an 82 yr old friend recently diagnosed with it. That guy's memory is better than mine, and I'm almost 50 yrs younger!
