Orion_70
Has anyone priced climbing sticks lately? Holy Smokes! I was in Gander Mtn. yesterday to pick up another stand and some climbing sticks since I was a few feet short hanging a stand the other day. I paid around $6 a piece for the Gorilla 32" climbing sticks last year. They're $14.99 a piece now!!!:no::no:
DocMort
WOW, talk about inflation. I am looking to do some more ground hunting this year though and just reaffirms me
wtnhunt
I don't recall seeing them for $6 anywhere in recent years. Think they were around $10 a piece here last year at wal mart. Gander mountain here the prices are typically high on about everything anyway.
MUDRUNNER
I generally try and get any stands or climbing sticks bought after the season is over. The last few stands and sticks I've bought have been around 50% off. Sometimes you just can't wait that long though.:hammer1:
hungry hunter
20 feet of climbing sticks at Sportsmans Guide for $39.00. I just ordered a second one with another loc on.
redkneck
20 feet of climbing sticks at Sportsmans Guide for $39.00. I just ordered a second one with another loc on. I'm with you bud. Can't beat the value of the stand I got and the climbing sticks either from them. Same set-up my buddy got at BP on sale last year for $120 (stand only and had to drive 3hrs round trip) I got delivered with the ladder for only about $20 more. snapper
20 feet of climbing sticks at Sportsmans Guide for $39.00. I just ordered a second one with another loc on. Yep...$40 for 20' of sticks! Can't hardly beat that compared to "big" name brand sticks/ladders. No complaints with the cheapo sticks! No complaints with the cheapo sticks! Actually, I'm done with climbing sticks. I started getting the 20' ladder sticks from Sportsman's Guide. $45 and waaaaay more user friendly. I think they are sold out now. I loaded up on those when I saw that price. All the Gorilla stuff is way up in price this year.
wtnhunt
All our wal mart seems to be carrying this year is remington branded stands. They had a boxed set of sticks, 16 ft worth for $42.
ruttinbuc
It seems everything in Walmart is the Remington brand. I see a lot of Realtree Hardwoods HD in my local. Have not seen the funky fusion stuff they carried most of last year...I see their screw in tree steps are nuts. It was not that long ago you could get them for a buck apiece! I am more or less forced to use my climber or the tree hopper system in some places that I hunt here. Stick ladders and climbing sticks are an invitation to thieves and the lazy who think nothing of hunting your stand. A few years back a guy even put in glow tacks so he could find my one stand in the morning. Didn't have a trail cam at the time. I took out the tacks and led them right back to the road. I guess he got the message.
huntdux
It's everything, the hunting industry is not doing any favors to hunters. They know we love to buy stuff so the prices of all gear increases every year.
hunterbobb
They have been $14.99 here forever. Consider yourself lucky for getting them for $6.
J.ALLEN.IA
I bought a 20' from Menards last fall on sale for about $30. I typically buy my stands at the end of the seasons as they're just trying to get rid of them- Walmart, Menards, Farm & Fleet. They'll take offers when they get down to the last one they're desperate to move them.
sskybnd
i bought 10 climbing sticks last year and they were $10.00 a piece from walmart,
