RangerClay
Long story short, the iron landed on the floor and has left a mark on the blue carpet. Is there anyway to fix this so it doesn't look so bad?
wtnhunt
Well Joe, if the nap is not too badly melted and is just discolored, you may try dying the area that is discolored. If it is burned just on the ends you can cut the ends with scissors just at the burn. Not sure where to find them, but pretty sure there are dyes out there for that type thing. We had an issue with our carpet in the living room get burned from the wife dropping hot ashes from the fireplace, the nap was melted too bad to do anything with, ended up having to replace the carpet. wtnhunt
Just found this on a google search, may be something to consider http://www.americolordyes.com/carpet-dye-pens.html
redkneck
I only had one experience like that, but it was much smaller (about the size of a half-dollar). It was burnt pretty bad, so I cut the fibers back to the base of the carpet, and then went around various spots cutting other fibers here and there and transplanting them with glue to the bare spot. It was kinda like one of them hair transplant operations, lol. When I was done, it wasn't even noticeable, but I'm guessing your spot is too big for that method. Dawg
A rug. That's what I had to do with my perfectly burnt iron mark on my carpet.
stevebeilgard
do you have scraps left over from the initial installation? if so, cut out a square and replace it. other than that, you're pretty much stuck.
