We had thousands of pics from a stealth cam Jeramie. As said above, only you can answer if that deer is a shooter for you. I have also shot smaller. Here this year I know we have at least 3 or 4 different bucks that were coming around our property that had antlers too or past their ears. One I am sure is a solid mature deer and that one will be my primary focus.

ok let me say this. would ya'll shoot him?

Looking at his face, I think he is a younger deer, for me probably not a shooter. Something to consider when making the decision whether or not I would shoot him would depend on where I was and on what else was around. Illinois is where the big boys roam, so think it likely there are much better deer around and I am holding out. Here in the backyard I have seen a couple deer better than that one so probably not here either.

That would be a big blacktail ...Yep, I'd shoot him, but don't decide yet, because there may just be a bigger guy out there.

If you look real close, that one behind him looks even bigger

Nice pics Jeremie. That cam always took good pics for me too.:)

If I see him here at home I'll send ya a pack of steaks in his memmory.

I'll proudly snap a few field photos and post them here, add the antlers to the decorative bonepile and keep the loins for myself.

I'll look at the antlers before I let out a big BUUUUUURP!!! (my compliments to the chef) and say to myself.... a hunt done right! Mission accomplished.

Time for a nap with this full belly of the good stuff. I'll shoot your dang doe too and throw her in the freezer with him for company:)

Just enjoy the upcoming season is all I can tell ya.

I too have shot smaller bucks. Leave the cam out for a while and see what you get. If there are bigger bucks that tickle your fancy, then hold out for them. I know I'd be happy with a buck that size, but I know in my woods there are quite a few deer out there and I would not rush to get bone on the ground.

That buck looks like a good 2 1/2 or maybe 3 year old. I love the way the antler hooks around on the right side. The points are all set, he will adding mass and tine length now. In a few weeks, you might even get pics of shedding velvet and bloody horns. Good Luck this season.
