Jeramie
So this morning I got up early to fling some arrows out of the new Cardiac. First shot in a new Goldtip 5575xt the arrow snapped in half under the crest wrap. The nock end flipped back and hit my face leaving a small welp. The other end went about 15 yards out into the grass. The string bit my arm HARD. As of this evening there is now even more bruising.... OUCH.... I never test new arrows. I typically only roll them after ive shot them a lot or had a questionable hit. From now on even the new arrows get tested...... Hopefully it didnt damage my brand new bow.... hutchies
Holy Moly brother.............that's horrible. Look over the arrow really well. Who cut them and what did they cut them with? Check the ends for splinters and I would be calling Goldtip Edited August 15, 2009 by hutchies
VermontHunter
I think I'd get that bruise checked, broken blood vessels in that magnitude can be a problem ... I hope that heals up quickly for ya... I check every new shaft after having them cut, just to be sure none of them split while being cut .. Now I'll be even more dilagent while checking them ... Ohiobucks
Yikes, that looks like it hurt a bit! I used to shoot Gold Tips, until I had a few split about 1" down the shaft on the nock end. First one was a "fluke", the next 2 or 3 convinced me to change brands.

layin on the smackdown
Ouch is an understatement...It could have also been alot worse, but either way, glad your ok...thats goona be there for a while i would guess, and probably look like a rainbow in a few days. Best of luck in your hunt for different arrows, and i hope that doesn't happen to you again.
fly
Holy cow bat man! You might want to take Luke up on his advice and get it checked. Looks pretty superficial so I doubt a blood clot would cut off any circulation. However, if you lose any finger feeling, have any tingling, or pain in your fingers head to the ER. Swamphunter
In 2008, I posted a pic of a cracked arrow, that had developed a fracture under the arrow wrap. I only discovered it when I removed the wrap to put new ones on. I looked for the pic, but couldn't find it. You are lucky that you did not get hurt worse.... GWSmith
Wow man, that is one nasty bruise. Ouch. Your bow isn't damaged - your arm absorbed all the force! Yeah that seems about right on there! I know after something like that I'd be taking off all of the wraps and inspecting every arrow shaft for defects.
