Speeding ticket(err almost)

Well this morning the wife and son went with me on my morning drive.(I go to look at deer and etc). I was a little late in my normal routine so I was going a bit fast. Then there was a state trooper that saw me and turned around and stopped me. blush.gif

I was guilty and ready to get a ticket. Well he asked for license /registration and proof of insurance. Luckily I carry this all the time. Even had the receipt of paying for insurance yesterday grin.gif.

All I got was a warning cool.gif I think it was because I had all the stuff on me and was polite. wink.gif

Wife got a bit snooty with me afterwards because this was the 4th time I ever got stopped for speeding and never got 1 ticket as of yet.. (She has always received a ticket everytime she was stopped)

I told her that I have a honest and innocent face(good looking also) and that she can look mean. tongue.gif

We ended up seeing over 30 deer and 1 coyote. cool.gif

Re: Speeding ticket(err almost)

You are pretty lucky to get away with no tickets 4 times, especially with Ohio State troopers.

I was reading somthign the other day where the OST where trying to go more towards giving warnings than tickets, unless you where way over. That way of doing things is making some people unhappy because of the loss of revinue. Got stopped on I-90 headed up for the last steelhead trip of the year...and also got a warning.

So I'm going to agree with Fred it has to be our dashing good looks.....lol

Re: Speeding ticket(err almost)

you're a lucky one Nut! my dad has got a few. he's got let off a few times too. i got pulled over once for going 80 in a 50 (50 in a 30 mph) and i got let off. and dad's latest was in april taking a groom to a wedding. 129 in an 80 (80 in a 50 mph) and the cop let him off. blush.gif he really thought he was gonna get it on that one. you normally would. 50 over the speed limit and your lisence gets suspended.... well that was 49 smirk.gif he really was running a little late, the cop saw the suits in the back of the car and wished the groom luck at the wedding and told dad to slow it down a little wink.gifgrin.gif

Re: Speeding ticket(err almost)

I have never been pulled over for speeding, but have a number of times for an expired inspection sticker. I have only gotten one ticket so my fiance wants to know what I do to get out of them. I think it is the being nice thing, I know my sticker has expired and don't make stupid excuses. Usually they give me a little card to put in my window and I have one week to get it stickered. Thank God because the ticket started out at $50 when I started driving and is now about $85. Which reminds me...my sticker runs out this month!

The Ohio State Troopers maybe giving out more tickets, but don't get caught doing 57 in a 55 in a big truck on I-71 at 3 a.m. with no traffic anywhere around. That'll cost you $220!!! I hate Ohio.

You got that right Uncle Steven. I used to have a Trooper come and talk to my Law class--I had his 2 boys in class. He was part of the commercial enforcement task force, and he openly admitted to me that they're particularly tough on truckers.

If it's any consolation, Ohio State Troopers are the toughest I've ever encountered in the U.S.--and I've driven in all the lower 48 except for the south west.

I've gotten pulled over plenty of times and just got a warning - not that I'm proud of being pulled over. I've been pulled over by a state trooper for doing 72 in a 55 and got a warning - must have been the fishing poles in the back of the truck.

Nothin' like getting pulled over on Christmas Eve while you are singing Jingle Bells LOUDLY with a 3yr. old in the back seat and the seats full of presents. Gave me a ticket on Christmas Eve! (54 in a 30) What a Scrooge!

Apparently you have never been pulled over by a Wisconsin State Patrol. No humor or forgiveness in them boys. Been pulled over 2 times by state boys. Once on EASTER and once on my out hunting. Yup you guessed it tickets both times.
