MichiganHunter
Well I love all the hunting videos that realtree has made over the years (both guns and bows) but what I would love to see is a DVD, A HOLE DVD that is aimed at us gun hunters with weapon limitations. I can only use shotguns (and smoke poles) in my area but primarily shotguns, it’s interesting to see deer taken with rifles at 300 or 400 yards but that just don't happen in this neck of the woods....I would love to see realtree and Remington to partner up and kill some buck/does/pigs/bears and maybe an elk or two with the tried and true shottie. But a deer hunting DVD with shotguns would totally rock mine and my family’s world. BUT THAT’S JUST A SUGESTION Thanks for looking and commenting Kristopher T. JimT
I would not buy a dvd with more then one hole in it. There are a few slug gun dvds around. Do a search. I own Sluggin' Whitetails. Not to bad but not great.
woolybear
I'm in a slugger only zone here too but can honestly say I'm not one for firearms hunts put to vid anymore. They just lack something to me. Probably the second sound. BOOM....that's all folks. Tune in next time for another exciting episode. I like watching a hunter reach full draw on his quarry and an arra dissapear in the sweet spot. The whole cycle. The un-noticed draw, the closeness of the hunt, the careful aim and control over the excitement, the sound of the arrow release, the THWACK upon impact and the sound of the death run not being shadowed by a gun blast. Yeah baby! Now that's the good stuff to me anyhow. Truth be told... before I took up bowhunting I was looking for the same type of vids you are talking about. Now darn near any gun hunt is like watching a pre recorded football game you already know the outcome of. They start the same and they end the same way most every time. MichiganHunter
I understand what you are saying but look at some of the dvd's that have rifle hunts they aren't quick but they are entertaining because they are done right with good hosts, I would love to the see some of the good hosts on doing some shooting. And I'm not sure what your thing was JimT about more than one hole they should be able to kill a buck or a doe with one shot just the same as a bow or rifle, slugs are devostating. But I will look up that one video you said.
sluggunner
I'll second that request I would love to see more hunts where shotguns are used. I hunt in shotgun only area and I think it would be so cool to have a DVD devoted to the close in action of a shotgun hunt. I basically hunt with my shotgun as if it was a bow anyway. All shots are close up and personal and would make for some real thrilling videos. I would buy a DVE like that and I know lots of other hunters that would too. stevebeilgard
i think that would make a good film. i'm not sure i've ever seen a shotgun hunt.
dbHunterNY
They've had some shotgun hunts, one was in Pike county, on the monster buck series DVDs. I've never seen a whole DVD solely for shotguns.
hoosierhunter
It's tough to make a video of just shotgun hunts because most people would elect to use the muzzleloader in shotgun season for the increased range.....At least I personally use my muzzleloader during gun season.....I like the idea, but I think it would be tough to get enough hunts for it...... MichiganHunter
Sounds like a few positive feed backs...maby we can just get a few more sluggun hunts. I think shotguns are a good middel ground between bow and rifels. Like to see a pro-staffers reply, maybe they already did and I just dont know it. MichiganHunter
check this out... http://www.thebestofthewest.net/frontpage/botw-videos.html http://www.thebestofthewest.net/component/option,com_seyret/Itemid,47/lang,en/ Cool to be able to shoot a plate at 600+ yards...(AT A PLATE)....I don’t even watch this show when their hunting, It's not even interesting when the camera is straining to pick up the animal in the next county...but to each their own. I'm not knocking it; it's just not for me. But they do have good advise and they know their stuff and if I rifled at 600yds than I would love em. RangerClay
I'm not sure if they are on the air anymore but I used to really enjoy watching Penns Hunting the Woods. They were out of PA. and they used mostly shotguns and primative smokepoles. They actually put on deer drives on TV and I thought that was cool. They make turkey calls and if you do a Google you may find them.
