jdavis
Here's the hit list for the upcoming bow season. #1. The tall 10; he has 6 on his left side and 4 on the right. This is the second year I've seen this deer. Last year he was a tall seven point. I like the split brow tine. #2. The wide 8; I've been watching this deer for the past 2 years. Judging by his body size I would have to say he his definetely 4 1/2. He is nice and wide but he just doesn't have much for tine length. He actually looked very similiar to this last year so I really don't think he will get much bigger. #3. Still not sure if I would shoot this one; he's pretty nice but I think he is only 2 1/2. He would be a nice one to let walk and pass his genes on. I guess I'll decide when/if the moment comes. Any thoughts?? Here's another of the tall 10. GWSmith
Nice looking deer...but depending on what state your getting these pictures makes a difference IMO. For Example: If it's some place like Florida...these are all Monsters. I think your dead on with the wide 8...just does'nt have the desirable traits to pass on and is a fine deer in his own right to take. Having this kind of quality racks where I was hunting would be Nirvana but if that was the case...I'd let everything else walk.
wtnhunt
Any of those would likely be shooter here in the backyard, but knowing you have those first two around, likely if I saw the last one I would hold out. We can kill 3 bucks here, but I am not greedy. That last buck is also in the same pic with the wide 8, and can see a difference in the body size better there. The wide 8 appears to me to be the oldest of those deer, he would be number one on my list, don't think I could let the first one have a pass though if he walked by my stand. I agree that the wide 8 is the oldest and would be my number one on the list. I would try to let the 10 walk if it was on my property since I think it is only a 3.5 year old buck and can turn into a dandy with another year or two
Jorden
All very nice bucks. I think that I would go with the wide 8 as well but if any of those bucks walked past I would have a hard time not shooting one;)...good luck getting one this fall:cool:
