passingas
Everything that I have watched or been taught has told me to only take a sure shot at a deer. I just watched a show where they were jumping deer in a field and taking shot's at running deer. They were even confused as to the gender of the deer after it was shot. They were not sure it was a doe until they walked up to the dead deer. Is this common practice with Sitka deer? I've never heard of this and especially not with whitetails. Thanks for reading. Texan_Til_I_Die
What was the show and where were they hunting? My first thought is that they were in a location with an overpopulation problem and were just trying to get rid of as many deer as possible as quickly as possible. Maybe they were on an island? Or maybe they were on a game preserve and the owners decided they didn't want the Sitkas around after all? That has happened in Texas more than once. Right now some ranches are trying to get rid of the nilgai (not an easy task) that were introduced in the past.
jesse8953
I saw that show,it was jim zambo and they were hunting Maryland. They were on a deer drive. That's how lots of people hunt whitetails around here.Deer are on the run and you have to led them or you will miss behind them every time.
