mastr001
I have a couple of question, I just got a new bow and a new truglo 5 pin sight and i was trying to sight it in the other day and my first pin i was shooting at 20 yards dead on and then when i went to 25 yards to sight in my second pin it was like 10 inches high from where i was aiming. and i dont want to move my pins much b/c i there wont be much room between the pins. Can someone tell me some advice on the best way to sight it in. the bow is a bowtech general with a draw of 26.5 and the bow is set on 68 pounds. help please
woolybear
That don't sound right. 5 yds should not make that much difference in POI at that range Fletch contact with rest? Under/overspined shafts? Something wobbled loose from the launching pad? Knock point, searving slipped? Any accidents with this "new bow"? Orion_70
You don't need 5 yd increments for your sights. My advise would be to learn to judge distance well and lengthen your distance for your pin settings. 20, 30, 40, etc.

Like everyone said, you should not need another pin for 5 yard increments until you start shooting long distance. Try shooting your next pin at 35 and see what happens. Then do the same with all 5 pins. I am going to guess that your pins are probably set at 20, 30, 40, 45 and 50...just a guess, but see what happens. dawgitall
I agree. Set the pins in 10 yard increments. Start at 20. 5 yard increments should be too close and take away to much of the sight picture. Make sure you hold your bow level or your windage will creep the further out you go. Good Luck
hyperflow
With my bowtech the 20 and 30 yard pins are pretty much touching eachother. Im not sure how big your target is, but if its big enough i would shoot me 20 yard pin at 30 yards and see how much it drops, Then move your 2nd pin tell your dead on, and do so on tell all your pins are where u want them. This is a good way to learn what your bow does. You will know how much your arrow drops at what yardege. I personaly like this because it gives me a idea howmuch off i can judge my yardeges and still make a clean kill.
