J.ALLEN.IA
It was raining this morning, and always heard rainy days are good to scout. It was a good day... walking through the timber- tracks everywhere. I started following some good trails and tracks, when about 20 yards out stood up a massive 10 pt. He took off away from me, but certainly gets the fever even hotter. If he doesn't have a lot of pressure on him, do you think he'll stay in the area if I can get back in put up a stand and leave him alone? redkneck
Deer have pretty routine habits this time of year and as long as there's no pressure and food sources hold up, he should hang around.

redwing
Put your stand up on a rainy day, so your scent gets washed away.

Stinger-Hunter
Had the same thing happen to me on Sunday - except with a doe. She was easily 150-160lbs. Nice! I'm going after does this year. I've taken too many buck from my area.
J.ALLEN.IA
I hope you're all correct. I went out the following day when it was wet damp and still rainy to put up the stand as I've heard they're the best days. Also saw some does pretty close putting up other stands. Opening weekend I'll be back on that stand, it's just tooooooooo FAR away yet.
