Unit 102 is just south of my home near Rexford and I have spent a considerable amount of time hiking and hunting there. The terrain consists of heavily forested areas interspersed with clear cuts with a lot of it being steep, rugged and full of blow down timber. There are ample Forest Service roads, both gated and open, for access. There is also a fair amount of private property to contend with but for the most part it is National Forest Service or Plum Creek Timber Company land, which is all open to hunting. Assuming you are planning a winter hunt with hounds, my first advise would be to make sure you are in shape to chase after hounds in steep, snow covered terrain. I personally would start at the south end of the unit in the areas surrounding Tally Lake and Ashley Lake as there are some big cats there. Heading west on Good Creek road north of Whitefish will also lead to some excellent cat hunting. Good luck on the draw.
