Guest bowhunter56
Just bought one, works great, not the best, but just to see what's in the area,,why pay hundreds, when $79.99 will do..
Tom2008
Friends have used them and they just didn't work out to well. For the ones that did work they quit working after a year or two. Not a very reliable camera.
backwoods07
VERY unreliable. They usually last around 8-12 months then randomly stop working. I've owned four and every single one followed this pattern. No improvements were made (other than picture quality) from the original Wildview to the Wildview 4. I contacted the manufacturer and was blown off twice. I gave up with them. I wouldn't take one if it was given to me for free.
layin on the smackdown
I own two...They work good enough for me. Granted, they don't have all the bells and whistles of a cuddie back, but in the big picture, i just want pics of whats going on when i cannot be there. One bad thing, they don't lock and are not protected. I already had some tool steal one of my memory cards this year. The good thing about a cuddie back, however, is that if someone does steal it, they cant use it because they are password protected or something like that. I like my wildviews, but will most likely get a moultrie or a cuddie back capture for my next ones.
danthehuntinman
I had one last year and the pictures it took were very blury. if they are up close to the camera you can tell how many points they have but a little farther away its hard to tell. I sold it and bought a stealth cam I590 and it takes really good pictures spend a little bit more money and get one of those. I know there were just at cabelas for 89.99 but I think they usually are 119.99.
Tom2008
anybody have one? do you like it or not? One more suggestion. Go buy a Moultrie D40 for $99.99. 4 Mega Pixel camera with atleast 60 day battery life. My buddy has 5 and they are still running great after 2 years. I have one and it is going on 2 years also and still running great. Very easy to set-up and very reliable. Moultrie has excellent customer service also. Another buddy of mine got a bad memory card and it screwed up his camera. He sent it back to Moultrie with receipt and they sent him a brand new one from this year and a free 1GB card. You can't beat that service. Takes really nice pictures too. See for yourself! Edited August 23, 2009 by Tom2008
Adjam5
We had a few Wildviews 5.0 and they keep getting sent back for repair. They cannot handle the NY winters and once it drops below freezing, the camera won't work. They also are not too good at battery life. Customer service takes forever to get a replacement. The pic quality is pretty good when it works. Spend a few more $$$ and get a better trail cam.
Illinois John
Illnois JohnI bought a Wildview 4.0 a couple of weeks ago from Gander Mountain for $99 it came with batteries and 2 memory cards. I thought for 99 bucks it would be worth a try. Put it out that weekend and hoped for the best. Checked it the next weekend and nothing, turns out the cards were bad, put a card in it from our digital camara and tried again. From Sunday evening Aug 23 to Friday Afternoon Aug 28th I had 450 pictures on my camera. there were 10 to 12 different bucks 2 really nice ones, that I hope are still around come season. After the problem with the cards I didn't have much hope, but now I am pumped to see whats on it next. These are the 2 biggest bucks, the shadow to the left is a tree I had it aimed at and didn't realize it. For $99 it isn't a bad camera. I'd buy another.
