92xj
The other instance happened just this last gun opener. It was about 8 am and it was one of the quietest mornings I've ever heard, all of a sudden in the distance I hear someone screaming helllllllllllp. It kept doing that over and over for about 5 minutes, it was a very weak help so they must have been far away but it still gave me chills. And about the "help" sounds I heard, it sounded as if it was well over a mile away, and I had no form of transportation at the time. Otherwise I would have obviously went and checked out the situation, you just don't leave someone scream for help and not do anything. This baffles me. There is no way ever, even my worst enemy, would I not investigate the sounds of another human being crying for help in the middle of the woods. If they were in ear shot, they were in foot shot. I am not here to judge and I know everybody does things differently in certain situations but I would have never thought to sit there and not do anything because they sounded a "mile" a way. If I was that person and i survived whatever it was that was happening to me and I learned that someone was within hearing distance of me and they never showed up to help, i would be pissed. But to each his own, you do stuff your way, I do stuff differently.

Jeramie
Hunting turkey one spring and just after daylight I had an elk bugle about 50 yards away. Talk about jump out of my pants. That may not sound strange to a lot of people here but keep in mind Elk are not common in Oklahoma. The ones that are here are protected. Ive lived in Oklahoma all of my 33 years and thats the only time ive even heard an elk in Oklahoma. Ive never actually seen one on hoof. stevebeilgard
it was very early morning, all alone in the high alpine meadows. there, a hundred yards away was sasquatch. just as i was reaching for my camera a ufo came out of nowhere and lifted him up into their craft and in an instant they were gone. or did you only want true stories???? lol
Dawg
it was very early morning, all alone in the high alpine meadows. there, a hundred yards away was sasquatch. just as i was reaching for my camera a ufo came out of nowhere and lifted him up into their craft and in an instant they were gone. You saw that too?!?!?!? So that was you running back across the meadow screaming like a little girl!! lol My dad and I were doing a deer drive way way way off in the backwaters of Dam B lake. I'm standing there waiting for my dad to make the drive when I hear what I thought was someone with a low deep voice say "Hey" right behind me. I slowly turn around and across the slough was a massive herd of hogs. I guess the "hey" was the sound of them grunting. Nevertheless, it gave me chills. Tominator
It would probably have to be the time my brother and I put 3 bison out in a deer drive to my dad. Really? Escapees I presume? Did they grill up good?
MichiganHunter
i got one for ya. I was hunting on a section of state land in the middel of no where and was using my climbing stand. I was up 22 ft and was going for 28. My feet slipped out of the straps and i dropped the foot rest well no big deal right i got my safty rope on it....oops it came off/ broke off and fell crashing to the ground 22 ft below me. Well I sat there for like 10 min freaking out and finally decided to pull the old tree trunk shimmy and slide out of the seat part and shimmy down the tree. Started off it worked great, untill about half way down i realized that my back pack had my bow rope attached to it and the bow was not about 9 ft off the ground....so what to do, try to climb back up of drop the bow...BAM the bow hits the ground and i find my way to the ground in a rougher than expected way. then I have to bear hug the tree and climb the foot platform back up the tree to get my seat portion.....this hole prcess took like an hour....SUCK HARD TIME
mossyhorn
got one froma freind today guys.....He said he was walking in the woods not far from where i heard that "woots" and he felt something hit him in the back. It was a small stick like something had thrown it at him. The next morning he and the guy that owns the place when to the very spot the stick hit him. They had left extra bullets back home and the owner left him there in the dark without a gun just a small flashlight to go get them. It was 20 minutes of sitting with his back to a tree wondering how that stick managed to do that.
