HUNTINGMAN
With Dell computers. I have a Dell lap top that I have had for 3 years and have had nothing but problems with. Now,my Dell xps one that I have had for just one year stopped working on me a couple of weeks ago. A guy came to the house today to fix it and said it was not repairable. It is still under extended warranty so he called Dell since he was a official Dell repairman, they said they were going to send me a referbished one for free. I have been on the phone for two hours going from one person to the next and getting hung up on trying to find out why I wasn't getting a brand new computer. I may have lost my cool with the women a little, she told me that after the computer was over 21 days old all they could send out were referbs. I paid over 1600$ for a brand new computer and now I am getting a used one that more than likely has been messed up allready, she said my computer was one of the highest end dells they sell and just because it was a referb didn't mean it was used, but I know difrent. They wouldn't even give me another year extended warrenty to cover the used computer,I told her that was just another way the American worker was vetting screwed again. I have a feeling that before my warrenty is up this o e will be busted to. Edited August 25, 2009 by HUNTINGMAN

Alisha
Sorry to hear that you've had such bad luck with your Dell computers. My sister and I both have Dell desktops... I'm currently typing on a Dell laptop and Justin's brother has a new Dell laptop as well. We've all had nothing but great luck with them. Sure sounds like you are getting the run around from their Customer Service though.. and after paying $1600 I would be a little upset as well. Good luck. buckee
I've heard too many Dell stories lately to trust in them. I'd rather get one built .

Bowtech_archer07
I have a Dell laptop as well, never had many serious problems with it, however I did have a minor problem just a few weeks ago. I called Dell Customer Service, and spent 1 hr on the phone with them and talked to 4 different people before I finally got to someone who could help me. I voiced my displeasure to every person I talked to after the 1st person. That is not how customer service is supposed to work. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I truly hope that this computer works out well for you!

Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Sorry to hear about that. We have 4 dell laptops and one desktop and have had no major problems with any of them. The newest one is my Dell XPS m1530 that is about a year old. The only problem we have had with any of them was the CD/DVD drive went out on the desktop. One call to Dell and a guy was here the next day to replace it. I think if I were to own any other brand I would probably go to a mac, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. OJR
5 years old with this Dell desktop and just a few months old with the Dell laptop! Zero problems with either of them! Before I had a Gateway and I will NEVER look at them again!
Gator
I have a Dell laptop, and our other computer here is a dell, and both seem to be holding up just fine. These are the only Dell's I have ever had
The_Kat
I have had two Dells and loved em both. I had a similar experience like you are having with HP. I had a brand new HP a few months ago that fried after 3 days!
hammerforged
Have had Dells in our family for 15 years now and no problems with any of them, but I can certainly understand your frustration. I just got a letter from Dell informing me that they were going up on my interest rate for my Dell preferred account. It was bad enough at 11.5% but now it is going up to 24%! I will be closing that account and not buying from them again.
