dbHunterNY
I've been thinking about getting a muzzleloader. I'm thinking a Triumph, Bone Collector Triumph, or CVA Accura. What are your opinions, pros, or cons for these? I basically would need a 200 yard gun for deer, but I think all of them can perform out to that range. Thanks, Dan
jesse8953
"T/C has a lifetime warentee. No other ml has that." That was the answer I got from the Cabelas worker in the gun department.I don't think you could go wrong with either CVA or T/C.See what fits you the best. FrontierGander
CVA has a lifetime warranty. Better barrel on the CVA that WILL shoot everything from conicals to sabots, Real stainless steel barrel unlike the other 2 tc's. Open sights that you can easily get into view for the states that require open sights only. Thumbhole stock is available for the Accura. Ever open and close the action on the triump or bone collector? Heres a short video on me operating the CVA Accura. http://s293.photobucket.com/albums/mm53/thepowerbeltforum/CVA%20Accura/?action=view¤t=Accura-2030.flv
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Can't go wrong with T/C May dad has a Triumph and that is one SWEET gun. If I didn't already have an Encore, I'd be getting one of those.
jesse8953
I looked up both warrantys and the T/C has a FULL LIFETIME warranty and the CVA has a limited lifetime warranty. If anything on a T/C breaks they will replace it.I personaly like the T/C omega with a thumbhole stock. The fiber optic sights on the T/C omega are better than a CVA optima.I haven't looked down the barrel of the accura or the triumph to see the differance on there sights.Look at the guns side by side and shoulder both of them and you can make your own decision. FrontierGander
ive owned both the omega and optima/accura. The sights that came on my omega wouldnt even adjust down to where i needed them. 8" high @ 50 yards and i was bottomed out and shooting a few inches to t he left. CVA really is a full lifetime warranty. CVA has replaced missing sights on rifles ive bought / traded that didnt come with any, no questions asked. Ive never had to send any of my rifles in for repair either which is a good thing. cva warrantys all factory finished firearms to be free of defects in workmanship or materials for the lifetime of the firearm. Its limited to the original consumer owner. Thats where the limited part comes in. But they do not care if you tell them that you are the second owner or not. Tony Smotherman
Before you make your decision you should try the trigger pull on them both. A good trigger is as much a part of the accuracy and a clean barrel. I just got my new CVA Accura and out of the box with no tweaking..the trigger broke over everytime at 2.6 pounds. That is one sweet trigger! Tony Smotherman
FrontierGander
2.6lbs? You got a heavy trigger! Mines right around 1.5 lbs Estimated.

That is one sweet trigger! Tony Smotherman This is very true. I have a Savage with the accu-trigger that breaks very light and I can shoot extremely well with it. I actually found a deal on a T/C ProHunter an hour away. I went there and one of the things I was worried about was a 5 lb trigger I've heard they have. I tried it though and it seemed manageable and crisp.
