Adjam5
The week after July 4th, my shed was broken into at our hunting camp/country house, and my son Mikes Yamaha 03 TTR125 was stolen. They tried to get my 4 wheeler, but it was locked up too good. The bike had a chain through the swing arm and rear wheel, but it wasn't chained to anything so it was carried out. 10 days later, the police recovered the bike from someone who traded for it and gave a full signed statement of how the bike was obtained. Last night. I got a call from the Detective handling the case telling me a arrest was made! WOO HOO! The cops wanted this guy bad. He has been trouble for this town for quite some time I was told. My hat is off to the Police of Fallsburg, NY on excellent police work and communication of what was going on. I was assured the whole time that they will get their man...and they DID! I will have to sue the person in small claims court for the damage to the bike about $500 worth and the fee($120) I had to pay to recover the bike from the pound. The article in todays paper. I am tickled pink. Great job to ALL the police out there! http://www.recordonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090827/NEWS/908279984/-1/NEWS
sluggunner
I just love it when the bad guy gets caught!! Now that law enforcement has done their job, you just have to hope some liberal judge doesn't let this creep off with a slap on the wrist. That usually happens because these scum bags know how to play the system and he knows if he promices he will be a "good boy" from now on he will get off easy. I say throw the book at him and give him the MAXIMUM penalty available!

Depending on his criminal history, he will probably get some county jail time coupled with probation. At least that is what most likely would happen in my neck of the woods. Would have been nice if they charged burglary third degree as a shed in my opinion is a building. I can go on and on with my complaints on how criminals are treated, but I wont. I'm just glad for you the jerk was caught.
GWSmith
Though these words may not seem like much: FELONY grand larceny At least if he is convicted of it he will never be able to legally buy a firearm again is his lifetime. So afterwards if he is caught with one in his possesion his penalties go up substantially. Glad he was caught for his stupidity and that you got your property back too! We need to talk to the Gene Poolman and have him add more chlorine:hammer1:

Adjam5
That's awesome!!!! But why do you the OWNER have to pay an impound fee? I don't understand that!! I didn't understand it either...but it was explained that the Police will call a tow company to remove the vehicle/bike. That fee was for the tow to the shop which held the bike until I claimed it. I was lucky I wasn't charged storage for the 3 days they held it at $75 per day! YIKES! Yes, the Police did their job and they did it well. I am packing now to head up to the country house and meet the Detective to sign a affidavit either today or tomorrow. I think this POS will get jail time. I ice fish with the Judge he stood before during arraignment( not that means anything;) ) But...They are hard on folks who steal from weekenders and folks who contribute to the town in a positive manner. We have owned this property(60acres) since 1968 and the house since 03. I am active in the town and support most every town function also...even as a weekender. I spend about 100 days a year at our country house. Again...Great job by the police!
SchuLace
Hopefully he will get his time in jail. I hate people who steal from others. They have worked hard for what they have recieved and I have no pity for someone who steals. If they want it that bad they should work for it like everyone else.
