Mystery Guest's Fantastic Journey

Of all the places I have ever been Alaska is the most majestic. The most beautiful and the most rugged. On short notice I was asked by Aksheephuntress (Kathleen) to get on a plane and get there to assist with the much anticipated moose hunt. The logististics of such a hunt is mind boggling as I saw first hand. With Norm and too_pointer limited in their ability to do much on their own I felt a duty to come and help. I am most humbled by it all. More on my fantastic journey after a bit of rest.

Thanks for the support everyone. There is so much to show and tell of this trip that it may take awhile to get together. I will be working on the photos in my free time here through photobucket which means I 'll have to select and resize from the hundreds that I took. Like last year on the fantastic Bucks for Buckee antelope hunt I'll be putting a DVD together. This time I will try to make it available to everyone who wants one.

I only hope I can keep the events as they happened in my mind as I failed to find time to keep a journal. I am still here looking to see what employment opportunities may be available. I will be coming home on the 6th of September. I really want to thank Kathleen and Terry for hosting this gathering. Once again Realtree forum members got together and experienced the ups and downs of what we all so passionately share. The hunting was tough as conditions and factors in control of nature made the game somewhat scarce. All of us have learned a little more about ourselves and each other. The challenge was daunting and being here to take it on was certainly worth the effort. To that, I think everyone would agree. Tagging an animal would have been great, but the journey to meet that end is what it is really all about.

Bear with me on the pictures. I will post some up as soon as I can.

My plan was to surprise the gang at the train station, but the early hour flight had me meet them in the hotel lobby. We then went to the train that took us from Anchorage to Seward. The scenery was breathtaking to say the least.

All aboard!
