Leo
Great pictures Mike! It's super you took the train ride. The train is so worth it, no question in my mind! Hope you had the Reindeer (Caribou) sausage on the train like Catrina and Christina. That's on the must have list for anyone who takes that train as far as I'm concerned. It's absolutely incredible how quickly as that train leaves Anchorage you are absolutely enveloped with Alaskan beauty. I know I have said this before, it's humbling it really is. ruttinbuc
The day after the train ride Norm, too_ and myself were flown in to Crescent Lake. I flew in with the gear first in order to get it on the plane and to the cabin. The short flight was pretty impressive. God painted this place with the awesome brush! The guys were as amazed at the beauty as I was. KirkV and Terry (TC) were packing in from the trailhead six miles from the cabin. The girls stayed with Kathleen for the first days of the trip. On the road to the float plane Gear ready and waiting Last check D' plane! D' plane! Out the co-pilot window View through the bug spattered windshield coming into Crescent Lake We'll be coming around the mountain Didn't even feel the plane hit the water Work to do First I'll load up for bear!!! Whew, what was in those bags you guys? Here come the boys! There goes our last connection to the world But, we are not alone! Way up behind the cabin Morning mist
