OJR
We have an overabundance of those blasted things this year. My wife has made some traps that are working better than the ones you buy at the store!
buckee
I found a nice nest of them up on a roof the other day too. I also got stung a few times, and managed to kill a few too. I surprised them the next morning with a fresh can of wasp foam. I love that stuff.
woolybear
It's that time of year again. They are busy as ever here too. Need to get a screen on my bedroom window. Kill at least 3 a day in the house. They are nesting under the siding. Probably wouldn't believe it but I just killed one while reading this thread. Ironic.:hammer1: Die !!!!!!!!!!! All dead. Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
They haven't been to bad around here. The mosquitoes on the other hand are HORRIBLE this year.

Dad got whooped by the a few weeks ago, here he came running full blast with about half a dozen around his head. Never seen my father run that fast, my brother and I just laughed our butts off. swohiodave
We have the wasps real bad this year. I went with a buddy to move a tree stand yesterday an he climbed to the top and found a nest in a bag hanging on the side of the stand. Stung him in the forehead! He had to take a shot from the epi pen and make a trip to the ER.
JimT
I feel your pain. I got nailed last year while setting up a stand. Picked a bad spot to hunt... They hurt.
Doe-ee
Has anyone tried that fake wasp nest yet? I guess you are supposed to hang it in a sheltered area around the house (like under the eaves) and any wasps you have will leave the area and no new ones will come near. Our trap doesn't seem to be working very well this year, so I thought about giving this one a try.

Strut10
Yellow jackets are usually pretty good humored..............until you get real close to the nest. Then they cop an attitude. They have a real penchant for nesting in Christmas trees (and in the ground in christmas tree fields). They don't care for it too much when you get to trimming at their tree. It's been a long while since i got stung (knock on wood). I can hear them boiling up inside a nest and I, pretty much, have an instinctive "bail" reaction. The you let 'em calm back down then come back with a can of spray. Couple weeks ago my father-in-law drove right over a ground nest of them on his quad. It's got a canvas cab and they got inside of it. Nailed him 5 or 6 times. I went down in my Jeep looking for the nest to spray it. Couldn't find it for the longest time. Then I drove almost on top of it I had the windows up). Instantly I had 300-500 VERY upset yellow jackets covering my windshield and driver's side window!! Creepy, to say the least. I drove off and had bees on the Jeep for a couple hundred yards!!! Came back that night and emptied a can of spray straight down the hole. Game over. coles
i hadnt got stung in forever until a couple weeks ago. I was washing dishes at 10:30 at night and when i went to dry my hands there was one wrapped up in my dish towel. I forgot how bad it hurts. then it itched for about a week straight
