$300 for a deer, if I get a good one.$225 for a duck-one of these, drake woody, drake greenwing teal, drake canvasback, drake pintail,or if I don't get any of those a drake mallard. If I can kill a hen turkey durring fall season,$125 on a hen decoy mount. I have spent $1225 since December,1 deer and 2 turkeys.I am on a payment plan, only $190 to go.Then start a new payment plan for this year.Economy has not hurt my taxidermist yet.He is still busy.Exept this week he is in Manatoba black bear hunting.

Well my turkey mount is in the proccess right now. If I get a good buck I'll either do a euro mount for myself or have kels do a cool shoulder mount. Not sure which. Not expecting to spend much at all either. If I get a coyote with the bow and the coat looks good I'll get that mounted as a lifesize or shoulder mount.

This will be my daughters first year deer hunting. If she gets a buck with a decent rack (6 pointer or better) I'll have it mounted for her ($350.00) is what my local guy charges.

He's doing a crappie she caught this past spring that will run about $120.00.

I've got a turkey being done that will run me about $500.00

If I get a nice buck this year (130 inches or better) I'll have it mounted.

Spring 2010 I'll be trying my luck in Idaho again for my first bear. If I get one I'll have a rug made for about $700.00.

So I guess the economy hasn't kept me away from the taxi. I have cut out other things though.

If I kill it I mount it.

Since I do my own taxidermy if I kill it I mount it, Buck, Doe, Squirrel whatever. It makes me way more selective now as to if I am going to pull the trigger or not. There is a very bright orange fox squirrel I had my eye on last season. I let him go many times in the hopes that he would breed and spread his genetics to other squirrels on my land. If he is around this year, he is toast as he will make a beautiful mount. It took all I had to not pull the trigger on him last season. I saw him as late as December, so if a predator did not get him he should till be around this fall.

Haha easy to say when your girlfriend is a taxidermist.

I never make plans for taxidermy. It just happens, sometimes.

If I shoot a buck, it will get mounted (I won't shoot one if it's not going on the wall). If I should luck into another bear, I'll have something done there, as well. Other than that......no real thoughts of anything else.

I do have a doe at the shop right now.

The only thing I will pay to get taxidermied is a big buck. I have my sights set on 2 deer, one that will push 160" and the other which would probably push 190". I would just get a head and shoulder mount on them. If I get either of them I will have ccwhitey's uncle mount it and he charges $400 and does a great job. If I get anything smaller than that dad and I will probably just do a rack mount.
