AaronS
Doe 100% Buck 25% (one buck per year in Indiana, and I won't be shooting unless it's a trophy)

Texan_Til_I_Die
Yeah, not too chatty. FYI - I'm heading out to west Texas this weekend for my final scouting trip before the Oct 3 archery season opener.
AaronS
I don't post much either. I will be doing some final mowing and hanging a stand on one of the better farms I hunt tomorrow, then my Indiana prep work will be done. Then time to start preparing for my Ohio archery trip coming up Halloween wknd.
lilmisswtnhunt
I've just been in school, but when I'm not maybe I'll get a chance on a deer like last year.
BLH
Between work and honey-do's, finding time to get on here is slim. But it will change as soon as hunting season hits full swing. I figure if I get the Mrs. happy now, I may have a little more leeway with free time later. haha.

RangerClay
I went and hung a new treestand today for my November hunt in the southern tier. My season opens one week from today. LET THE COUNTDOWN BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!:drink:
Texan_Til_I_Die
I had a good trip to west Texas. Saw a few deer and finished up all of my bowstands. Also planted a new fall food plot in a spot where I've been seeing a lot of activity. Everything was very green and all of the animals look to be in excellent shape. Now we just need a couple more good rains over the next few weeks...
AaronS
I mowed the woods trails on one of the farms I hunt and hung a stand while there. Didn't see much sign, but I don't hunt that farm much until late November and December anyway.
RangerClay
Today was opening day and it was a wash out. It looks like Wednesday be my first decent day to hunt.

Texan_Til_I_Die
Saturday is my archery opener and I've got a decision to make. The weather looks marginal, lows in the mid 50's and highs close to 80. Do I hunt close to home, where my chances of seeing a really big buck are slim, or do I make the 4 hour drive to the ranch I hunt in West Texas in spite of the not so good weather? RangerClay
Howdy all, I sat yesterday for about 6 hours. I saw about 10 does and fawns. Nothing worth shooting yet. I really wanted to shoot a big tom turkey that came strutting through in the morning but it was peak deer activity time so I let him pass. I will be going back out Friday night and Saturday morning. I hope some bucks start coming around. Edited October 1, 2009 by RangerClay

AaronS
Good luck guys. If all the stars align, I may get to hunt Saturday evening. Only chance I'll have for a while.
Texan_Til_I_Die
I'm leaving at noon today to make the trek out to West Texas. Weather will be a little cooler out there than around home, so I decided to make my opener out there. We've got 7000 acres to hunt and I'm going to have to share it with 3 other bow hunters. Don't know how we'll all fit in there, but I guess we can make it happen some way...[sarcasm]
RangerClay
I almost sealed the deal on Saturday morning. I had 6 doe walk in the food plot and stopped a 20 yards. I was waiting for the biggest one to turn for 10 minutes. When she finally turned I drew and one of the smaller does saw me and blew. Deer flew in every direction. I knew it was going to be tough with 6 sets of eyeballs but one of them managed to see my elbow. I'm going back out tonight with the kids. Maybe we will have better luck. BLH
Yea. Congrats. I just had a wild hair and went out and bought a new muzzleloader this afternoon after work. The Mrs. finally consented. Got a CVA Optima Pro. Time to spend some time on the range the next few days and get it ready for Saturday's muzzleloading opener.
Texan_Til_I_Die
Well, I set the alarm clock for 5:30 this morning, intending to get in a quick hunt before work. Instead I laid in bed and listened to it pouring down rain. Oh well, it should be cleared out by this weekend.
