HunterLuke
My realtree outfitter series summit viper arrived yesterday. I'll be able to get back to them big bucks now and not have to worry about some piece of crap stealing my stand.
MUDRUNNER
I seen two does during my Saturday evening sit, but they stayed about 20 yards out of range. There's still a lot of crops in, but hopefully with a dry week this week the farmers can start getting some out. I'm off again Friday, so I'll get to hunt the morning. HunterLuke
Saw around five does and one 4-point today. There was one giant doe I swear she looked black as coal she was so dark. If she would have came about 30 yards closer she might have had an arrow go through here..lol 4-point was all in range but wasn't what I was after. SuperMn106
Good updates guys. Last weekend, I seen about 6 does and 2 bucks but nothing worth shooting. I have another long weekend hunt coming up this weekend. Hopefully I will find something worth shooting this weekend.
Wilfinator
I've been out quite a few times in the last month with Buckee, seen lots of deer but none quite close enough for a shot. I still have my eyes on a nice shooter buck that always seems to come out just before last light, but hangs back from the rest of the herd. Going out tonight again to hopefully fill a tag. Only a matter of time... Edited October 20, 2009 by Wilfinator
elnor
I'm counting the hours until Saturday morning, opening day of our muzzleloader season and the first day I'll be afield this fall. We have plenty of doe management tags we're looking to fill, and I have a couple of bucks on my hit list that I'll be after, too. Hope to have something to report late next week once I'm back from hunting.

HunterLuke
I missed out hunting this morning because of this dang H1N1 flu junk. It's honestly some of the worste stuff I've had but I don't hardly ever get sick. Gonna give it a try this evening if I'm feeling any better. mrswtnhunt
Hope you get to feeling better HunterLuke. Our ML opens the weekend after halloween. Looks like that might be the first chance I get to get out. Been seeing several shooters on the game cams. Good luck elnor!!
elnor
I shot a doe yesterday, 28yds with my Triumph with open sights. I'm on vacation this week, so I'll be after a buck for several more days. I'll post to the contest thread once I get home in about a week. Good luck to everybody hunting or starting soon! Tony
congrats on the doe elnor. i tagged a doe myself this morning. i shot her at 20 yards broadside. i made what i percieved to be a perfect shot. i ended up getting her, but in a most unconventional way. the story is in my blog. now its big buck time... MUDRUNNER
Boy, you guys are whackin' and stackin'! No shots this weekend. I had a vacation day Friday, but both kids were sick so I had to stay home with them. I got out Saturday, and seen a few does, had one at twenty yards Saturday night, but it was just a fuzz too dark and I didn't want to make a bad shot. I was off yesterday and spent about 10 hours in a tree and didn't see a deer. It was warm and rainy so I wasn't expecting much.
elnor
Congrats to everyone putting venison in the freezer. My mid-week ML season update: I shot a weird antlered managment buck yesterday evening. He had a sagging belly but scrawny three points on the right and a two point "club" on the left. Nothing fancy but ten points for the team. I'll get him posted once I get home. Hoping to burn some more powder on managment does this week, while also scouting for a big buck for my rifle season tag. So far I haven't been seeing the big boys during shooting hours, may need to move stands.

SuperMn106
Well I went and bought my Kentucky tag tonight. I am headed there in the morning with a buddy. That means I will be able to hunt with a gun this year, I have not had the chance to hunt with a gun in the last 4 years. Hopefully i will get a crack at a nice one. mrswtnhunt
Congrats guys on your backstrap. Our youth hunt is going on now. ML opens next Saturday. My hubby(wtnhunt) is headed up to Wisconson to hunt with Randy next week. My inlaws are coming down to help with the kids. I plan on going out opening morning. Hopefully I'll put the smack down on the big one we've been watching on the cams.
MUDRUNNER
Another slow weekend here. On the bright side, it looks like we finally have a few dry days coming up, so the farmers should be out in full force this week getting some of the corn out. Things should really start picking up here in a week or so, and I plan on hitting it pretty hard over the next three weeks.
elnor
Back home and playing catchup with work and house stuff. I shot a management doe on Halloween, so chalk up 2 does and 1 buck during our muzzleloader season. Also have a 13 point buck I've nicknamed "Gnarles Barkley" that I set up a stand to hunt in a couple more weeks; I'll try to get some trailcam pics of him posted so you all can check him out. Tony
i had my big 10 point at 45 yards this morning and i couldnt shoot. its just to thick. he decided to not cross where hes been crossing and follow a doe that went ahead of him about a 1/2 hour. looks like My Split G2s is up and moving. this is the buck i really want to tag, but ill take the 10 point too. Tony
had a great morning on stand. i saw 7 differant bucks and 6 does. the big 10 point was only 30 yards away this morning. there was way to much stuff in the way and it was on the other side of the fence where i do not have permission. i have 4 days off starting tomorrow morning. i plan to be in the stand all day everyday. i sure would like to tag that guy tomorrow morning. then i could play aorund fo rthe next 3 days...:)sometime in the next 4 days i should get my shot. i passed a nice 8 point this morning also. he would have been close to high 130 class. he was only 16 yards away. whats really cool is these deer have no idea im even around. i guess its because im in a stand thats 28 feet up! you just got to love the high tree tops. i have a very good safety harness and its always attached when i climb up and down and when im in the stand.
