Well, we're hopefully gonna get some stands on that new property. We walked it Sunday and found a couple spots to put a stand and saw some good sign. I hope we can get out this weekend and get some stands up then stay outta there till deer season. Season opens Oct. 1, I will be in school the 1st, but the morning of Oct 2nd I will be in the stand.

Got in my blind by 5am and around 7 am deer came in. Two bucks ....then 730 two more deer doe's but to far to get off a shot. Husband wanted to go to another hunting spot, so we went.. there was no deer sign..I got my blind put up incase the rain would come back and then about an half hour later he comes walking back with his tree stand..."I didn't see any deer sign, so I couldn;t find a good spot". You're crazy I thought..So in the blind he comes with me and then 20 minutes later, :"Can we go home? I have a shot in the morning and need to get ready." Well pack everything up and off to home we go..He is going to take me back out Friday morning, and this time hopefully I can use my tree stand..What a day....

Sounds awesome aujack. Dad and I went out yesterday to put up a stand. We set it up right on a trail through a brushy area that goes right by a pond, to a natural funnel up to a food source. It's in a good spot, has good cover. I'm just not sure if it will be a good morning and evening stand or just an evening stand. We have to walk by a corn field to get to it, but I think they are feeding somewhere else, and just bedding there and staging there before they move out. I think I will try it Oct. 2nd, the first morning I can hunt, and see what happens. This is the property where that giant I mentioned earlier is hanging out.

I'll probably be a little late getting to the stand when our bow season opens here. I just ordered a new string/cable set for my bow and the guy said it's going to be a month from time of purchase to ship date. That's gonna put the strings here a week and a half after bow season opens. Then it's gonna be at least another week of waiting for the installment and tuning to get done. That will put me at about 3 weeks in to season and I am leaving to go to Colorado on the 28th of October. So it looks like I'll be bow hunting for the first part of gun season.

Shoulda got these strings ordered a lil earlier. :hammer1:

Ok guys yall are going to be mad at me for this but I promise there will be another opportuntity. Ok so yesterday afternoon I killed my first deer with a bow. It was a big doe and I was so happy that I forgot to take a picture with the information to enter it into the contest. I promise I will make this up especially because I shoot at almost every doe I see.
