My season opened today with heavy frost and below freezing temps over night...and I'm stuck in college.... :( But the other problem is that I have a bear tag that runs threw most all of bow season so I will be focusing on that and not as much on deer. BUT come start of november, my bear tag is finished, and I'm all deer, come nov 15th I'll start gun season and I am going to try to get 5 does this year and a two bucks if I get ths shots....I usally take 1 buck every year...might not always be monsters but I passed 9 bucks last year so should be a few better ones hanging around this year. But Look for me to post 3 to 7 deer, and a mix of does and bucks....the family will take 10 to 12 deer this year.

Well, 1st morning on stand was windy, cool, and absolutely no deer movement. I think the bad weather we had last night kept them bedded up. Tonight it is windy again, but the rain has moved on. I'm going to try the same land, but a different stand where they have been absolutely destroying the corn along the edge of the field. Hopefully things go better tonight.

It was windy again tonight, but I saw some deer. I saw a doe and fawn and 4 bucks. 1 of the bucks is a potential shooter, but I couldn't get a really good look at him even with my field binos. They are calling for the wind to keep up all night and a few showers just moved through. I will be back at it in the morning in the same stand I was in tonight and see if any of those deer will give me a shot. If I don't see any movement in the morning I will probably go to some different property Sunday morning and see what I see there. Hope everyone's season is going good!!

I'm in my stand now. Its a spot on our property that not to many people have hunted. About 30 minutes ago I have 3 does walk 30 yards from me but they were in cover. My dad isn't hunting but he is in his truck looking over a field just to see what happens. He texted me and said he had seen 1 doe lol

Doe number 2 has hit the turf. Shot her about 6pm this evening. Story and a pic to come later. I know it's not an upgrade to our score, but I'm still pumped about getting her.

Are we only allowed to submit 1 doe?.......WELL CRAP...Just read my own answer....crap on a stick...lol I am taking like 4 or 5 does...here I was thinking cool 20 to 25 points in doe and bucks ontop of that....poop....lol well I guess i'm shooting a buck for sure...lol

LOL, glad you answered yourself. I'm just putting meat in the freezer and building confidence for when a big ole buck walks by. This doe was bigger than the last one, ya think I might be able to get like an extra point for that?? LOL:D:clown:

Congrats on #2!

I went out Saturday morning and didn't see anything. Took my son out with me Saturday evening. We took a pop up blind and set up on the edge of a food plot at a different location on our property. Got there about 3:30ish. I grunted off and on, 10 to 15 minute intervals, about 4:45 a buck steps out onto the food plot fully alert. He was about 50 yards out and had his eyes fixed on our blind. He was there for about 30 seconds and decided he didn't like what he saw and hauled butt. He wasn't a monster but would have been a nice deer to take with the bow for the first time. We sat for about another hour and decided to take the blind and brush it in at a spot a little closer to where this buck came out. Went and sat Sunday morning for about 2 hours before going to church. Didn't see anything. I'll give that spot another few days before I go sit again. Hopefully the deer will have gotten use to the blind being there by then.

Heck ya an extra point is due.....I really was hoping you chould get points for each deer you harvest but I guess thats not fair to people who only get to shoot one or two....but yall are going to see lots of pics from me with lots of dead deer.

OUR TEAMS PRIVATE TOTAL KILL COMPETITION

This is just for team bambies nighmare and not for other team to participate in.

RULES

Same rules for this one as for the normal competition scoreing goes but with a slight change. We dont need to see a pic we all trust one another if you got a pic toss it up (no tag photo required just the deer if you can/want/able) but its for your total deer harvest for the year....so you shoot 2 does and a 10 pointer on the year your score is = 5(doe) +5(doe) + 15(10pt)= 25 points. When you kill or if you have killed add up you points and just keep a running total...we'll do something to recognize the winner. But after each kill post up the total points you have earned if you want to toss up pic (I know some of you dont have pics if you have a second doe) go ahead but theres no prize so no point in making stuff up. We will see who wins the Team Bambies Nightmare total kill contest. Good Luck Yall

(What do ya think sound fun?)

Dang, Bow season I can get as many tags as I can afford. Shotgun season you can get 2 tags, then they just changed the laws so you can buy leftover antlerless tags over the counter. 1 Muzzleloader tag, then 1 late season tag if you want them. However, you can only kill 2 bucks from Oct. 1 thru the end of the season in January.
